Better then my 15mo GE
Works better then the 15 month old GE that it replaced. It was also about half the price even when I added the 3 yr warranty on it. It's quiet, and I like the control panel better then the GE one. I would buy again. Husband and kids like it also. The only thing I found weird was the fact that the door automatically locked after cook time ended. You can disable this feature though and it will not reset, even after a power outage. Other then that, it is the same size as it's predecessor except slightly deeper then wider. It also heats food in less time.

Quiet and Quick - note the depth of the plug
I really like this microwave. It is VERY quiet and it heats quickly and effectively. It's pretty easy to use, no complicated controls... a simple touch-pad with "frequently used" options. The sensor reheat seems a little finicky... sometimes works well, sometimes... enh. One "ding" is the cord. The plug on the cord is a a standard plug instead of a 90 degree "flat" plug. if you have an outlet directly behind the microwave cabinet/box, then the unit will stand off of the back wall by about 3 inches. It is a big microwave, which I wanted, but if your outlet is directly behind the location of the oven, be sure to factor-in the depth of the plug in your planning. In my case, the plug made the unit too far forward, so the front feet were out past the shelf it sits on. I had to by a flat plug extension cord to make it work. I don't like using extension cords unless absolutely necessary and it was an added expense.

Nice microwave!
I love my Sharp microwave. I had a Panasonic for over 10 years and it was a great microwave and was looking to buy another. But prices seemed a little high. They have a great reputation so I understand them charging more. So I shopped around a little bit. and I stumbled on this Sharp and bought it. Very well made unit. I like the different preset buttons better than the Panasonic. I'm just getting to know my new microwave. The sensor reheat button works great. Put your leftovers in, push one button and it heats it perfectly. None of the usual one spot too hot, one spot not hot enough. I'm not sure how it does it but it works great. Plenty of power, and gray interior looks....SHARP.

Good for the price
I will give this microwave a 4 stars. This replaced a comparable size KitchenAid microwave that was new in 2007 which at the time was pretty high end. The old microwave was still working but the number pad was starting to fail so I went looking for a replacement and this was as close as I could get without buying another KitchenAid. This new microwave uses less current and is a lot quieter. My old KitchenAid would trip a 15A breaker on very long cook times. This one's current draw is rated under 15A according to the spec sheet. The controls on the new one are very similar but not as functional. When defrosting the KitchenAid would let me enter the weight of the food where this one only offers a few predetermined weights. Tried to defrost a couple of hamburgers which would have been .7 pound. Even on the lowest preprogrammed weight it started cooking the meat on the edge and I had to stop it well before the end of the cycle. Have not used all the sensor cook features but most of them are based on preprogrammed weights which are all well above single servings. I have used the baked potatoes sensor function several times and it does work satisfactorily. Considering the price I paid I feel I got my money's worth although I would have thought the software in a 20 year newer lower cost microwave would have caught up and passed the 2007 high end model I was retiring.

Excellent microwave
I ordered this last year after using a Panasonic for years and thus far, it has been an excellent microwave. I like the gray color on the inside and the stainless look outside. The only thing I didn’t like was the lock on the oven door that you have to push a button to unlock. I couldn’t find any models this size without it. That being said, I highly recommend!

Damaged before shipment
Although the box had minor damage the box was still sealed I found a significant dent on the bottom of the over toward the rear right about below the Magnetron and only the screw that held the rear Black plastic foot. Yet there no small particles or a damaged foot in the box. Which leads me to the possibility the damage was done prior to entering the box. Since Amazon had no other of the same Sharp Microwaves we ordered the same unit off of another vendor. When we received the replacement from the new vendor we found that it was the upgraded one we thought we got from Amazon. Giving the 3 stars was because we thought we had the upgraded version and an undamaged unit. The replacement is functioning well for us and quieter than our old Sharp this one is replacing, we would give a 5 star.
