Nothing special
Ive tried other fruit purees from this company (Perfect Puree) that tasted awesome. In this case however, despite marketing hype (and premium price), the first 2 “exotic” ingredients are water x sugar while actual juice content is just 30% :( vs. 70% sugar water), consisting of a questionable blend that does contain (presumably fresh?) Yuzo as well as lemon, key lime, & tangerine juice concentrates + citric acid. Incidentally, I recently went on a buying spree to source every single yuzo juice preparation i could find to see how they compare, which included 2 different bottled brands of 100% juice, 2 blends (significantly cheaper) containing water, sugar & bwn 15-20% of pure yuzo, and lastly, a dried juice powder made from 100% yuzo juice which can be easily adjusted for strength, and contains no bitter peels or pith. Applications for my Yuzo adventures ranged from Key Lime-like pie (yum), to mixed drinks (mean Pisco Sour), to Sorbetto (yum x2) to a vinaigrette and a marinade (all amazing). Given the price of this stuff, it tasted neither especially Yuzo-forward, or like anything exceptionally unique (mostly reminded me of “Country Time” mixed w/ flat Fresca soda). Do your own research, plenty of better Yuzo alternatives (avoid that Monin Syrup slop too) that pack much purer flavor + delivery control!
