I bought this set for the random upholstery jobs I do and just my usual shop projects, and they have been excellent. They load smoothly, feed without fuss, and my stapler has not jammed once in normal use. For the price and the quantity, this is an easy win. I am running a standard pneumatic upholstery stapler (I have a couple of them - all work equally well). The strips slide into the magazine cleanly, break lines are consistent, and the crowns sit flat when the pressure is set correctly. I ran several hundred staples across a weekend of work and only tossed a couple of singles that were slightly bent at the ends. That is a very low defect rate for a bulk pack. I tried these on a mix of common upholstery and shop materials. • Softwoods like pine and poplar for frame repairs, no problems seating flush. • 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch plywood backers for panels, strong hold with minimal blow-through when I chose the right leg length. • Webbing and fabric layers over foam, clean penetration without tearing the fabric face. • Thin vinyl trim on a test piece, no crown burrs that could snag. With air pressure around the manufacturer’s mid range the results were consistent. This is key - adjust your pressure if you are having issues. Quality of the staples The galvanization looks even across the batch and the points are sharp. Crowns are uniform and legs track straight, which is what prevents jams and ricochets inside the magazine. After a few days in a basically non climate controlled shop, I did not see surface rust, so the coating is doing its job. Variety and coverage You get a practical spread of leg lengths that covers most upholstery and light carpentry tasks. I used shorter legs for fabric and foam, mid lengths for plywood backers, and the longest for softwood frames. Having everything in one labeled box speeds up the workday. Why this set earns five stars • Runs cleanly in a pneumatic gun with almost no jams. • Good variety in a single, sturdy organizer. • Even coating, sharp points, straight legs, and uniform crowns. • Value is excellent once you look at cost per staple. They may not be the most premium staples on the planet, yet they do exactly what I need with no headaches. Great quality for the money, lots of usable sizes, and a case that will actually survive being tossed in a drawer. Full marks from me.
