Beyond the Secret Lake: A children's mystery adventure (Secret Lake Mystery Adventures)

I enjoyed all 3 of the books in this series, but I really loved "Beyond the Secret Lake". It is a well contained mystery including characters introduced in the first two books but can be enjoyed on its own. I recommend it to upper elementary and middle school readers. I found the book had the magic held by the classics written by Margaret Sidney and Betty Macdonald, so older readers may want to try it too

This series is one of our favorite! We are hoping for book 4! So fun, full of descriptive language, lovely long sentences that spark imagination and a glimpse into the old world. Fun wholesome kids adventure, no weird gender ideology or foul, disrespectful language anywhere, just good old fashioned fun, so refreshing in today's crazy world of what is called children's literature. We absolutely loved it. Read with our 10 year old. Get the series you won't be satisfied with only book 1!

Book 3 was even better than the first 2 books. Much more detail with a fascinating yet spine tingling mystery that unfolds in such a fun way. I’m a grandmother looking for good wholesome books for my young readers and I’d love to read a book 4!

I'm an adult and loved this series! Such a fun read!

This is a super fun series. I love time travel stories and the author does a wonderful job of putting it on a level that isn't too complicated for kids to follow but is also very cool. There are a lot of funny moments in the story and I love how the kids come from two different time periods and work together, all the while learning more about each other. The setting is well researched and fascinating, and I felt like I was there with the children every step of the way. It has plenty of twists and surprises and does a wonderful job of casting the light of suspicion on different characters—it kept me guessing the whole time! And the ending was perfect, even though I was sad to say goodbye to the characters.

My daughter and I just finished reading all three books together and really enjoyed them! She will tell you they are her favorite book series thus far!! Hoping there will be a 4th book:)

Beyond the Secret Lake is absolutely phenomenal! The construction of the story is magnificent. I enjoyed the familiar characters as well as the new ones. Beyond the Secret Lake is my favorite of the Secret Lake series, written by Karen Inglis. The story is written in such a wonderful way that it played out in my mind like a movie as I read it. I'm anxiously awaiting for the finished book to be released, for the cover as well as the tweeks to the finished story. I would recommend Beyond the Secret Lake for children, young and old, eight years old to 108. Simply wonderful.

I brought this book for my grandson, he loves this series, now thanks to Grammy he has the entire set

Very inappropriate for children - encourage secret affaire and many kissing scene described. So frustrating that nowadays author cant stop themself to try to corrupt out innocent children who juts want to read adventure story without any adult stuff

I think this book was amazing it kept me wondering who the villain was, and what they were doing to Sebastian. Sometimes I really felt like I was one of the characters in the book like Lucy, Stella, Emma, or Hannah. I think if you read this book you will love it too! I hope Karen Inglis writes a book #4! -CeCe, 8 years old
