Toyota Genuine Toyota Camshaft and Valve Tension Spring for Idler

THE TITLE OF THIS AD SHOULD READ: TIMING BELT TENSIONER PULLEY SPRING, It is NOT a camshaft or valve spring of any kind. This is for my 1999 Camry with the 2.2l 5S-FE 4 cylinder n/a engine, automatic transmission. It will be installed 11/4/19. I'll let you know how it goes. UPDATE Jan 2020; This spring installed perfectly and is currently doing it's job.

Fixed my issue on a Camry with almost 300k miles on it definitely was glad to have a bunch of extra parts

For those that need to know: The 5S-FE engines for Toyota Camrys for the years 1992-1997 used a 1.8 inch spring in length. The 1998-2001 used a 1.6 inch spring. This one measured 1.8 inches when I received it and is working.

How you see it pictured was how it arrived (I broke open the little packaging to take a measurement) it measured at 1.6inch. I know that the 1992 to 1997 Toyota Camry used a 1.8 inch spring and the 1998 to 2001 Toyota Camry used a 1.6 inch spring. My Camry was manufactured in 12/97. I looked up the Vin, and most of them seem dated as 98’. Even looked it up on ToyotaPartsDeal and the VIN comes up as a 98’ being that it was December of 97. Therefore, the measurement I took (taken from both sides of the INNER spring using a digital caliper) on the tension spring free length is accurate for my year. I thought I might have had to go to the dealer to get the 1.8 inch spring but this one will do!
