Very interesting book, enjoyed reading about different eras

We are using this book so much, taking it with us when we trawl through charity and vintage shops - it really is a bible for anyone trying to recreate a convincing vintage look.

Bought for 17yr old niece who loves it. Has some websites in it for accessing vintage fashions which she said were good.

Lovely book full.of interesting images. One of the better vintage fashion books. Suffers from the same problem as the others in that it describes things it doesn't clearly illustrate like Poiret'so designs or the shawl collared suits of the 20s. Still, a lot of nice details.

Very interesting and a good record of fashion from the past for those who have a keen interest.

Hi there, I have to say, kudos to the author. Wonderful, visual pictures, so much details, One can sit and read and look for hours and see something of interest. I have read other reviews, and ordered it anyway. I love different. So when I received this beauty of a book, all I can say is just wow! Heart and soul was literally poured into this beauty of a book, literally. Fashion, vintage from the 1920x to the 1990s color pictures, fashion style side notes and the written history. WHO could ask for more. Why this book received negative is beyond me. It is a section of history I myself find most interesting regarding fashion and more. Beautiful color pictures, a lovely size, 8.5 x 11 hardcover and RED. Red is the trend in fashion for 2018!Kudos to Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway for a job well done. Interesting, honest, history, research in one place. Can you tell I love books! Yes I do! Extensive library and just look at my wish list lol. I am retired, older, but appreciate fashion sense, learning and more. What a journey. So thank you to the authors for this nice book that should be on the coffee table at hand at all times. What a lovely conversation piece, beautiful prose and lovely pictures of yesteryear.I highly recommend this one if you are at all interested in vintage clothing, news from that era or just like looking at fashion. If you are a student, I would think this would give you lots of ideas! I really liked how this book was set up, lovely. I hope this review helps you decide if you might like love this one. I sure do.
