Not even close. Linzer cookies are almond shortbread filled with jam. These are the same small, cheap sugar-and-flour cookies that get sold for $3 a box at your corner drug store, with so little jam inside that you can't even taste it. Worse, they contain no almond extract at all. I cannot believe I wasted $15 on this. I live in Maine now, where no bakeries sell Linzer cookies, and I shelled out that money just to get the New York Linzer cookies I grew up on. Instead, I got eight really small, tasteless cookies with almost no jam.
