Kenmore KW4070 RevitaLite Pet Portable Carpet Cleaner Machine

I'd give this machine 10 stars if it were possible!! Of the 3 different carpet washers, this one is the best! I owned a Dirt Devil carpet cleaner. It did a better than the water system attachments for my Rainbow Cleaner. The suction was better, but it required additional upper body effort to extract the solution. The wet system for my Rainbow was very narrow and didn't have wheels on it and required even more upper body effort. My shoulder would hurt for days after I was done. The Kenmore KW4070 is amazing. I counted out the 9 capfuls of cleaning solution into a measuring cup. It comes up to 1/3 Cup. That saves you time when you go filling the clean solution container. The machine is so easy to set up and disassemble for clean-up. I love that the lid that covers the rollers comes out completely, so you can clean it well. My Dirt Devil and Rainbow wash system didn't do that. It always looked gross. I still use my Rainbow cleaner for vacuuming. I love the water canister that never loses suction. I also get great satisfaction on seeing what it really does through the see-through cannister. I vacuumed all the carpet really well with the Rainbow before washing. That water alone was horrendous!!! I worked on the perimeter carpet next to the molding using the 6" attachment. It worked a charm! After doing the perimeters, then I washed the carpet. I was in disbelief how filthy the carpet was. Whenever I've washed carpet my whole life, I've always gone back over it with a clear-water rinse. So, each of the rooms were done twice. I don't want soap dried in carpet. I believe the residue draws more dust and dirt in the future. The 'rinse water' was a lighter dirt color with additional foam. The extractor is so efficient that the carpet was dry in about 3.5 hours...max! I still have 2 rooms, 5 dining room chairs, 2 recliners, the basement, and the basement stairs to do. This machine has more than paid for itself already. If you tally the entire job, it would have cost me well over $700. The professionals charge around $15.00 per stair...alone. There is one concession. I wish the dirty water tank held more fluid. I look forward to my first vaccuming with the Rainbow to see the complete analysis. The carpet you see is 28 years old! It may not look great, but it is in very good condition. This is the best it's going to get. No shoes allowed rule over the entire time. It's my mom's condo. I can't replace it yet. UPDATE 1/21/2025: i finished all the jobs previously mentioned except for the stairs and basement. The machine has already paid for itself. I Googled the going rate for professional carpet cleaners. It would cost me over $700 just for the upstairs cleaning. They charge per square foot. The pictures I posted are the ivory carpet throughout the condo. This carpet was put down in 1996 when my dad had the place built. The 2nd picture of the variegated taupes is the breakfast nook. I took the picture so you could see a before/after comparison. That carpet is 3 years old. As you can see the difference in the portion at the bottom after cleaning, with the top still needing to be done. The machine restored the carpet to what it looked like when it was placed November 2021.

Update nearly a year later: It's still working great. I've used it about once a month for the past year and my only issue is the smell of the cleaner that came with it. It isn't as strong as some, but my air purifier recognizes the air as contaminated for about 30 minutes after (the only other thing that makes it do that is burning something in the kitchen) so I usually clean just before going upstairs. I've only used it once, so I'll update my review if anything changes, but it did an amazing job cleaning my living room carpet. The dirt it pulled out was disgusting and I probably need to clean a few more times soon to really get everything (even professional machines often need a few passes), but I'm really happy I made the purchase. I had been using the Bissell little green which is fine for small jobs, but this cleaned the whole carpet (2 separate passes) in about 20 minutes (I did really slow passes until I couldn't see any water being suctioned up) rather than an hour or more just for one pass and it pulled a lot more debris and just dirt out of the carpet, along with a much greater quantity of the water, so the carpet dried more quickly, too. The machine was easy to clean up and I was able to open up or pull out and rinse everything easily, not leaving visible dirt and debris behind in the machine. I also liked the cleaning fluid (a first for me; I've been on the hunt for years). It did a good job and didn't leave a noticeable smell behind- I'm really sensitive to smells. I didn't test out the attachments, but will update my review if I have any issues. The clean water tank didn't last very long (1.5 passes of my 8'x12' rug) so if you're doing your entire house refills might get annoying, but the dirty water tank lasted longer.

I only have 1 room with carpet, I knew it needed cleaning, but was shocked how much dirt came out with this machine. It was very easy to use and did a great job. Since it does not hold but half a gallon of clean water you have to refill frequently but that is why it is so lightweight making it easy to push and small to store. I am impressed with this machine. The only change I would - the clean water tank should be clear so it would be easier to see when it needs refilling.

I've gotten some good use out of this, and overall I think it cleans well and has nice options given the size and price. You do sort of need to get the hang out using it to get the best clean, and to get a thorough clean you won't get more than maybe an 8x8 sized space done, so I would go with something larger if you plan to use this often or want to do large areas each time you use it. But, for smaller areas or the occasional larger area with a few fill ups, this works great. The attachment is pretty good as well and nice to be able to do both larger quicker upright cleaning and spot cleaning with the attachment. Only reason for 4 stars is it's not the greatest clean, but I don't know if you'd get much better without spending a lot more.

This works very well for small little areas or if you have a small room it really does a good job. Cleaning highly recommend easy to put together really easy to clean. Perfect for what I need.

I am really happy with this. I have just used it for the first time yesterday. I had very, very, dirty carpet that was way overdue for a cleaning. I live in a rental and am too embarrased to say how long its been lol. I dont have the space to clear out my things for professionals to come clean and this cleaner is about 60% the cost of a visit from a buissiness. My intention was to remove dirt and contaminates from down deep after the years of living on this carpet. I had no expectaion for how good it would look i just wanted it "cleaned". To my surprise the carpets look SO much better just shy of amazing, it is 19 year old carpet and there is only so much help it can recieve. I ran it three times, washing then almost drying each time. All but the 2 most severe spots were removed and the severe spots were reduced in appeance by about 80%. I dont belive a carpet that is manitained normally would require 3 full passes. This thing removed so much dirt and dander from down deep in the carpet. It is undeniable when you empty the dirty water tank. The suction is very powerful and direcected right where it needs to be to pull up the water quickly after saturation. The tanks are easy to remove and fill. I have rented the grocery store rug doctors many times, this Kenmoore provided much better results to my surprise. the water tank is a bit smaller so you have to stop and refill but that is so easy to do it wasnt much of a problem for me. the brush spins pretty fast and its is it good contact with the carpet so i guess thats why the stains got removed. I should add that they made the brush head cove SO EASY to remove and clean and that may bey one of my favorite features? Dont have any comment on durability beacasue its brand new, but like i said it was just about half the cost of a visit from a professional.

I was skeptical about it because of the small diameter hose and I always liked the big green machine. It works as good as the rental! I used this machine on all different carpet types and it worked perfect. It’s also quieter than the rental. It’s the same as using an upright vacuum. It extracted almost all the water I added. The carpet in the picture is over 50 years old; was a bit dull and had no stains. The shampooer cleaned it beautifully. My fill was between the small and large line. It’s user friendly, lightweight, and easy to store. I have been cleaning for over 50 years; had my own cleaning business and have shampooed a lot of carpets over the years. This unit works perfectly for residential use. It’s not a rugged unit, but it’s well made. If you treat it carefully and clean it after each use, I’m sure it will last. I have no complaints at this time.

After just over two years I've replaced it. I am pretty adamant about carpet cleaning and expect the best from my machines. I will spend an hour on a room working to scrub and dry as thoroughly as possible. Overall Cleaning performance 7/10: it didn't blow my mind but it did leavee feeling like the carpets were clean. Spots 6/10: spots were stubborn to get compared with other cleaners. Ergonomics 9/10: the tanks being both low on the handle greatly reduced back strain for long periods spent cleaning. It also steains the fingers holding the trigger for spray when competitors automatically control spray based on movement. Durability 6/10: I don't consider 2 years a very good lifespan for such a machine when "pro" is right in the description. Useability 8/10: while spraying is fully up to the user, no option to control suction exists outside of the machine power button. Serviceability 8/10: after replacing it, I tried to look into fixing it and using it as a spair, and was happy with the easy screw access to the various rollers and belts. Parts availability 3/10: the only part available on Amazon is the clean tank, a nod to the known durability of that tank. I used this cleaner probably 4 times and am replacing it. I had the clean tank crack, like others, very quickly. I patched it with epoxy and was back in business. Now recently the cracks have returned to haunt me and are leaking so bad I can't effectively clean. This prompted an emergency visit to the local store to get a replacement unit since I already spot treated the stains. The new unit outperforms this one at 150% the cost. This unit also made terrible noise when the rollers were on, so I tore into it to clean and repair what I could. The unit is pretty easy to service and clean with access to all rollers and belts via 3 screws. The roller problem is due to a metal shaft inside the roller that had worn its hole out and allowing the roller to flop off center. This puts the roller in and out of contact with its belt (which seems fine after two years use). The water tank is cheap to replace but the roller set is not available I'll be calling Kenmore to see about replacing them. Bottom line: this unit is a great performer at a bargain but better cleaners are available for a price.

I am very pleased with this small yet mighty machine’s design and performance. Since both the tanks are located at the same level, the weight of the machine didn’t strain my arms. It cleaned better than my previous hoover brand machine. It is also super easy to put together and pull apart for cleaning afterwards. I only wish that the dirty water tank had more capacity, it has to be emptied once the level reaches about 1/4th of the tank’s level.

Clean water tank needs replaced as it leaked and there was no cleaning solution as pictured and had to order thru kenmore for 61 and will need to wait atleast 3 weeks for it to arrive. But otherwise good machine you can't really go wrong with a kenmore. I purchased with the save with used expecting a scratch it cosmetic damage not do much a leak so I tried to fix the tank that it came with e6000 and flex seal it works for now as a wet vac but I have high hopes it will be a great machine once I can actually use it.

Wow! This did an amazing job. It just got my carpets as clean as the $300 the commercial cleaner charged. Also like how it comes apart for cleaning after use. It more than paid for itself in just one use. Highly recommend.

My carpet cleaner is about 7 months old but only started using it in the past few days. My partner used it twice before with no issue. Today I noticed a the clean water tank had a big crack and further inspection there were a few cracks. I emailed customer support and have since looked back on the product reviews. Take the word of many who reviewed that the product is cheap, it is!

Much better then the handheld I used, great efficiency, easy to use , easy to clean, the only issue is that in some areas grime accumulates and sometimes gets tricky to clean
