Q: Does the bottom conform if it were on a flat surface, or would it remain rounded on the bottom?

Hello Customer If it is placed on a flat surface, the bottom will basically fit together, and one end will be concave inward, forming an arc shape.

Q: The installation shows the bag being mounted to the rear fender, not a rack. Are you unable to tell the difference? Not for me.

Not really on a fender. On a sports bike, it has a tiny seat with fender parts showing. But would still work strapped onto rear seat or rack.

Q: Is this bag usable for bikes with rear fender eliminators? Photos appear to show it being strapped to it.

Hello customer You can take a look at the installation video on the page. This bag needs to be fixed by tying the straps to the rear rack. It doesn’t matter whether there are fenders or not.
