It has a red tint to it which for my pale skin makes it look natural like I’ve been out in the sun. My old go to used to be the the b.tan I want the darkest tan possible which has a green olive tint which is great because I am more olive toned but the tan would only last 4 days and wasn’t that dark. This st tropez takes about 10 days to fade and is soooo dark. The best part is that it DOES NOT SMELL on the skin!!!!!!!!!! I have only noticed a smell if I get the fake tan on my palms or soles of my feet whereas with other tanners like the bondi sands or b.tan the smell was horrible for 3-4 days and made me feel sticky where this st tropez doesn’t make you feel gross while you’re developing. I have also tried the normal st tropez but couldn’t justify the price which is why the b.tan was my go to but now trying this violet tan I will never go back to any other tanners! Review: Natural Bronze - I am a Pacific Islander, but my natural tone is pale. Because of that, I regularly worshiped the sun, and I even subscribed to tanning salons for a great portion of my life. Now that I am older, I smartened up finally and canceled my tanning subscription, but I miss the whole look of being bronze and sunkissed. I tried spray tanning, but I wasn’t a fan. My business partner introduced this product to me. Wow! It’s fantastic! No streaking, dark, and it smells good! I still receive many compliments on my complexion, it looks real! Instead of pretending it’s a real tan, I excitedly tell everyone that it’s fake. The island-life illusion is so overwhelming for me that I can’t keep silent about how I get my “”suntanned complexion. Buy it!! Don’t forget to buy a glove and a tool to spread it across your back. Because it smells good, you can literally apply it, wait 30 minutes, put on your clothes, and go out for the day. Or apply today, then go out tomorrow. Either way, this product is amazing. I bought the drops for the face as well and will be reviewing that shortly. Enjoy looking like a goddess after using this incredible product!

Olive tan? Nah. Literally buy any other brand.
I’ve been using self tanners for a while, this is a very recommended brand, and with having pink skin, I was really hoping this was going to be nice. This is probably the orangest I’ve ever EVER looked from a self tanner. I only left it on for 3ish hours and I’m very tan, but this was also the WORST self tanner to apply. I have a mit and it was still a nightmare. Took longer than any self tanner I’ve used. It starts clumping when you put it on, so there are streaks EVERYWHERE and you’re not sure whether or not they will stain your skin weird. I spent a lot of time on mine and hopefully don’t have any streaks (there are none that I’ve noticed so far) but honestly… NOT worth the price, NOT worth the hassle. Definitely not OLIVE when you wash off. Any other brand half the price will do you better than this one. HARD PASS.

Great product, dark and realistic looking.
Veteran male self-tanner here, and this is the best and darkest product I have ever experienced. I had to actually wash it off my face after an hour to reduce the depth of color! I've NEVER done that. The tan goes on dark, and I'm pretty sure it would rub off on sheets and light clothes, so wear a black shirt and shorts the day you apply it. Once you shower, that color transfer should not be a problem. There is only a slight hint of scent after a couple of hours, but nothing to be bothered by. I did not see a greenish cast to the product going on - but rather a deep neutral brown tone to the guide color. It looked like a dark tan instantly. If I were going out and dressing right after application, I would either wear dark clothes, or do a DRY wipedown with an old towel, after about 30 minutes. That should be enough to keep the majority of the color from transferring to your clothes. My experience with these tanners with guide color is that the transfer washes out in the laundry, so not a permanent problem. This product, for me, beats Bondi Sands and Tanology products easily. Worth the splurge.

Even but not dark results
I am a life long Bondi Sans user, but wanted to see what the violet undertone hype was about. This tanner goes on pretty dark and quite streaky. It was very hard to get it evenly applied with a mitt as each swipe moves the product around in a very uneven way. The guide color is dark, but I didn't find it all that much darker as Bondi Sans. I let it develop for almost 5 hours then rinsed it off. A LOT of product rinses off. I thought the water ran darker because it was a different undertone, but when I dried off, I noticed the final result was not as dark as I was used to. While not very dark, this is probably the most even, natural, streak-free result I have ever gotten from a sunless tanner. Update: After rinsing off the guide color, the tan continues to develop and the next day I noticed my tan was a bit darker. It hasn't worn off patchy other than my hands. This is a good sunless tanner!

Informative Review!
I’ve been self tanning for a long time and would not recommend this self tanner. Application: Dries down faster than any other tanner I’ve tried which makes it very hard to move the product. This dry down affects the color pay off and if the product overlaps on the skin, the results are patchy. Color: I don’t love how this tanner is marketed. It’s listed as a violet for olive skin tones, in my opinion this product is not that. This product has a light grey undertone and the color pay off is orange. I personally was hoping this self tanner would have a cold brown color pay off based on the undertones but no. Wear: I would not put this self tanner on and sleep in it, it feels not great and picks up everything like duck tape. With most self tanners I’ve used, I can usually be out while it is processing. This self tanner’s color shield does not look natural while processing. Important notes: With how long I’ve been self tanning I felt confident in my ability to keep my hands from looking orange. This product continuously and without fail gave me orange hands that faded in patches. The grey color will not go away with water, I had to wash with bar soap to remove the grey sheen. Smells weird. What I recommend: If you do decide to buy this product great, hopefully it works better for you! When I WOULD use this product is, over too of another self tanner. I paired this self tanner with an olive toned self tanner and after a day or so, applied this violet self tanner. The color pay off was gorgeous! This is a tanner that ai think pairs best with another. Pairing it with a different undertone of tan creates a dynamic and natural tan that kicks all of your unwanted undertones.

Amazing, not orange at all!
I'm Italian and Greek and have naturally olive skin so self tanner tends to be too orange for me... This Tanner is amazing. Literally the best one I've ever used. It goes on very dark and brown, not orange at all. Though it didn't leave me exactly as dark as I'd like after ringing it- it's so natural looking and pretty... I use a glove and brushes to apply ... I definitely recommend it!! (Don't be nervous, it is very dark when you first apply it but it rinses off... You leave it on for 6 to 8 hours to allow it to stain your skin and then you rinse)

My Honest Review of St. Tropez Violet Supreme Self Tanner
I am writing an honest, unembellished review for the product. For reference, I have a light-medium caucasian skin tone with lots of freckles. I tanned obsessively for many years, so my arms and somewhat my face are more medium-toned than my quite white legs. My facial skin is extremely sensitive; turns flaming red easily and breaks out. I've used a number of self-tanning products, so have some experience with them. Onto my review of St. Tropez Violet Supreme... I like the way the bottle looks and it's comfortable to pump the mousse. I found it easy to apply to my skin, the consistency was easy to rub it in. I don't use mitts anymore because they don't work as well as my bare hands do (I wash my hands immediately & thoroughly after finishing self-tan application!). This time I tried using a Kabuki brush, but I'm not getting how that helps because the self-tanner dries quickly, before I can work it with the brush. I had a major concern about the mousse in my bottle because it is SO green. A true olive green. Absolutely nothing "violet" about it. I suspect that the word Violet in the name is a clever marketing ploy; after all, no one would be attracted to a tanning product that was called "Green Supreme." Inevitably, the mousse got here and there in my bathroom- on the wall, on the sink, and it was GREEN. Army green. I kinda panicked about that and checked online. So either my bottle is spoiled and has turned a very unattractive Exorcist-puke-green OR St. Tropez has that standard darkly-green guide color in all their self-tanning products. As for the scent, I love it! Reminds me of summer and the pool or the beach. The scent is very, very subtle. I applied the stuff thoroughly on my face, arms, upper chest, legs, and the tops of my feet. Applying self-tanner is a grueling workout, imo. It takes immense patience and a lot of time and effort. Which brings me to: Was it worth the trouble? Not really. Not this bottle, anyway (is Amazon selling old products or do the products get too hot in their delivery trucks??) and not this time. I was too anxious about giving the Violet Supreme 8 hours to develop because I was afraid I'd turn absurdly dark-tan or some odd off-color. I opted to go with St. Tropez's suggestion of leaving the mousse on for 4 hours to achieve a "deep tan," but not an "olive tan." At the 4.5 hour mark I took a short shower and rinsed the product off. By that time my face was stinging and breaking out a bit. I got out of the shower and went to bed. When I awoke? My facial skin had calmed down, but the color of my face was no deeper than I'd achieved with Isle of Paradise tanning drops mixed with my moisturizer. a nice enough mild tan, but nothing spectacular. I was really disappointed. My arms, which are already naturally tan, are about a shade darker. Looks natural but, again, certainly nothing spectacular. My legs, which were quite white, are verrry lightly tanned looking. The problem is that I could swear the "tan" has the slightest green tint to it, which I do not like. I spoke with a helpful Amazon agent and explained to her that I am wondering if the product I received is old or was overheated. She kindly sent out a replacement at no charge. I will compare the new bottle, when it arrives, to the first bottle, but I have the feeling that my results won't be dramatically appealing - and I sure do not want to be greenish. St. Tropez has to be joking to price this product so high. I definitely won't use it on my face again because it was so irritating to my complexion. My naturally tan upper chest, shoulders, and arms could use a boost, so I'll use the stuff there. But if 4 hours made my legs a bit on the green side, I'm afraid of what 8 hours might do. I will say that there was no problem with the mousse collecting at my elbows, knees, and ankles - but then, it did so little, altogether.
