My filter cover was super tight, I had to use a 3ft strong arm to remove it, inch by inch, and even then any uneven application of pressure caused it to slip off (hence 4 stars, but I suspect that is 1 star lost due to Honda design). Without this tool, considering how tight the cap was I suspect I would have damaged the component. A note, the packaging has a circular retaining clip, so the hole for your reach appears circular, use a pair of snipe nose pliers and remove the metal and hidden beneath is a nice squire tench hole.
