Good price and so cute! Instructions are easy to follow and it looks great finished. The little penguins are adorable!

Bought this as a gift and I must admit I am really happy with the value for money! I have seen many places sell this set for nearly double the price. I did have to help the person build it but the instructions were really easy to understand as always with LEGO products.

Please note that this set is designed as an add-on for the Super Mario Starter Course, which is sold separately. So while it does have some playability as a standalone set, you really need the Starter Course to get the best out of it. Anyone who's purchased Lego before will be familiar with the presentation. Inside the box is a series of bags with the various parts in, and a step-by-step instruction booklet. As with all Lego sets, the instructions are excellent. It's not the biggest or most involved build, but there's some nice use of transparent pieces for the ice effects, and the three characters (two penguins and a Goomba) are really cute. From opening the box to having a completed set took under 45 mins. Of course, the idea with these Mario sets is that you chain them all together to create a game "level" with interactive features for the electronic Mario figure and the related mobile app. There are barcoded trigger points you add to certain blocks that are read by the Mario figure. It's a nice idea, but it does mean that these individual add-on sets are a bit limited on their own. It's not completely useless without the Starter Course though. Imaginative kids will find plenty of playability, I'm sure. It's a nice looking ice house and ice slide/rink, and the character models are good. It perhaps needed a few more uniquely Mario features though, as it's a little generic for the most part. The build quality and presentation are up to Lego's usual high standard. Due to the Nintendo licensing, the price is a little higher than other Lego sets of a similar size, but I guess that's to be expected. If you're a Mario fan and are collecting these course sets, then this is a pretty good one.

This Lego set is an expansion set to the Super Mario collection and Mario isn’t included with this one. In this set you get the penguin figure to build and also the Goomba character from the game too. There is a total of 228 building pieces which are numbered in 3 different numbered bags inside the box and an easy to follow building manual. The building manual guide has 85 stages of step by step instructions to follow with coloured illustrations to make it easier and is suitable for ages 7 and up. Younger children who are Mario fans will also enjoy this set but would need adult input when building as some of the building stages may be complicated for them to follow. This set once built is an additional expansion but quite easily used as a separate play set for creative imagination. I would love if you could get the Super Mario separately rather than buying another set with him included.

It’s Lego, what’s there not to love? My 5 year old put this together so fast! He loves it. Super easy to put together. He likes to get ahead of himself but the directions reel him back in. He uses it with his Mario and Luigi characters.
