⭐️Highly recommend!!!! ⭐️
If you are a parent or guardian of a girl, please buy this for her! ***And moms, big sisters, grandmas, aunts: Do not hesitate to create a safe space where she feels she can ask ANY questions without being made to feel embarrassed. This is so important!!!*** A relative of mine thought she had time before she needed to have the period talk with her daughter, who ended up getting her first period at only age 10 - totally confused and freaked out. This experience, plus the fact that girls are getting them sooner on average (even as young as 8!), made me want to prepare my own daughter (who is currently 8) so she wasn't totally blindsided whenever her time came. This book has thought of everything, and I'm quite impressed. It allowed us to go over the basics together. She had a million questions, lol. But I'm so glad I could be the one to answer them. I appreciate how this book is VERY HONEST and does not hold back, yet remains age-appropriate (in my opinion). I suggest moms/guardians take a look first to make sure you agree. Personally, I think it's so well written. (No talk of "gender identity" either, which is honestly refreshing nowadays.) I highly recommend this!!!! I wish I had something like this when I was younger.

An amazing tool to use when talking to my daughter
I am so glad I bought this book for my 8 year old daughter. We have been reading through it together at bedtime and it has been such a great way to start talking about all the changes that are going to happen. The way everything is explained is really simple and not scary at all, which I was a little worried about before it arrived. It covers everything from brushing teeth to how your body grows in a way that is easy for her to understand. My favorite part is that it actually gave us a reason to sit down and have those good conversations that can sometimes feel a little awkward to just bring up out of nowhere. She had so many questions after we read the sections on skin care and healthy eating, and the book makes it feel like a totally normal thing to talk about. It’s written in a really friendly tone that makes her feel comfortable asking me things, which is exactly what I wanted. The illustrations are really cute and inclusive too, so she can see that everyone’s body is a little bit different and that is perfectly okay. I feel like this is such an important book for girls her age to have as they start getting older. It’s definitely high quality and I’m really impressed with how they handled all the topics. I would definitely recommend this to any parent who wants a helpful tool to navigate these milestones with their daughter!

Millennial Mom of Pre-Teens, Rejoice!
Millennial moms of pre-teen girls, it's time!! We had this awesome book when we were growing up and it's time to add it to your daughter's collection. My kiddo is 8, and I felt it was time to introduce her to some of the personal care tips I remembered from my version of "The Care and Keeping of You." I reviewed the book before giving it to her (I couldn't remember the maturity level of the reproductive health section), and found it was totally acceptable for my family's values. The pictures throughout the book are engaging, and the tips for personal hygiene were as excellent as I remembered. It was nice for a book to be able to reiterate what we already teach at home. We presented her with the book as a side-resource - there's nothing in the book we haven't already discussed at some level, and we discussed how to keep comfortable, open lines of communication open so she can come to us with questions. However, as a neurodivergent kiddo, she benefits from having the information in writing to reference on her own time. This book lives in our bathroom, and I know my daughter reads through portions while she's in there - I love that it's available to her as a supplement to discussions with mom and dad. <3

Perfect for young girls and emerging teens alike
My now 21 year old had & found this book helpful in middle school so I purchased it for now 9 year olds homeschool collection. Love the coverage about teasing, applying a pad and growing bodies. Absolutely love the message about body boundaries. Perfect for young girls and emerging teens alike. Would have loved this book as a young girl.

Perfect!!
We love this book. It’s not too graphic for a child to read that’s writhing the age range. I have an 8 year old & I found that this book was perfect & explained everything in a way that they could understand it & not go into too much detail & make them feel uncomfortable or embarrassed.

#1 female puberty book!
I'm stunned by how well thought out this book was written. My 8 yr old daughter and I sat and read through half the book in one sitting. She was so interested and absorbing every bit of info provided. This book is fact filled, thoughtful and compassionate. I really enjoyed how it spoke to oneself as well as how to treat others.

Very Informative
Very informative book with lots of information and without going very deep in detail. Tells kids information they need/should know before puberty hit full on but doesn’t give the overload of information to make kids stop reading. I have noticed kiddo go and read parts of the book over again. Personally I love how they tell girls their body is perfect the way it is and all body’s are beautiful no matter the shape or size. Only con I find is the book is BIG. It could be half the size and it would be more discreet, my young girls don’t like it when they are embarrassed about reading something and this book makes it hard to hide, but other then that great good
