Prolonging my cat's life
Our 13 1/2 year old cat suffered a horrible seizure on June 23, 2014. The vet diagnosed him with a heart mummer and the beginning stages of renal failure. She put in on aspirin (a HUGE mistake because it made him SO sick and he had blood in his stool) and she changed his diet to Hills KD wet food, which he refused to eat. 3 weeks later, he was in what seemed to be complete renal failure and on death's doorstep. The vet wanted to put him down. I refused and told her to test his urine sample for an infection, which I brought in on my own for her to test. She fought me tooth and nail but finally gave in. Turns out, I was right. He had a horrible urinary tract infection. He also had high blood pressure which she had failed to initially diagnose so she put him on a daily dose of an ace inhibitor. She put him on antibiotics for the UTI and he did improve but was still very ill. After four rounds of antibiotics and a new vet, I read the post about the Ubiquinol CoQ10 under this Epakitin review. I purchased them both. The turn around was almost immediate. His appetite came roaring back and I started him on Earth's Best organic baby food (2 flavors... Vegetable Turkey Dinner and Sweet Potatoes which he eats constantly... BUT PLEASE NOTE: Be very careful of ingredients which are toxic for cats like onions, garlic and apricots) along with a morning meal of Boar's Head honey maple turkey. Our wonderful new vet isn't thrilled with his diet but she has to admit he is doing great so she says to keep doing what works. She gives him the 100ml. of Sub Q fluids once a week for free via a "tech appointment" with the fluids I purchase. I am delighted to say he is doing FABULOUS! His weight went from 3.6 lbs to 4.8 lbs since the beginning of August. His leg strength is almost completely back. He has mostly good days now but does need daily loving care. I sprinkle a little of the Epakitin in every serving of his baby food along with a pinch of MiraLAX which was recommended by the vet. I give him a small drop of Ubiquinol on his lip at night along with his blood pressure med. Overall, it's a combination of regular vet medication and care along with alternative supplements and lots of love. If your cat is in renal failure, please try the Epatikin and CoQ10 along with organic baby food. I hope this helps other kitties and their families who love them.

This was 1 of 2 nutritional supplements that saved my cat's life from pancreatitis & kidney failure!
I am employed as a medical, clinically licensed microbiologist in addition to being a huge cat person. My Maine Coon cat, Snoopy, was recently diagnosed w/ pancreatitis & kidney decline. He had significant weight loss (primarily due to pancreatitis) & his hair started to become rough to the touch, patchy looking (probably due to the kidney decline). With the pancreatitis, his stools took on the typical "pancake diarrhea" appearance & foul smell. My vet is awesome, but from a western medicine veterinary perspective, there is no "cure" for these diseases. So ultimately, my cat was approx 2-3 weeks away from dying when I became desperate, and decided to do a LOT of research and decided to start Snoopy on 2 homeopathic, nutritional supplement products to try and save him. For the pancreatitis, I started Snoopy on "FloraZyme LP", sold by "[...]". The 2nd was this nutritional supplement product, "Epakitin", for primarily the kidney issues. Well, within 2 days, I saw dramatic improvement w/ the pancreatitis as Snoopy had absolutely NO more diarrhea. AND then he stopped hiding, but rather started to "hang out" with me again so I could tell he was feeling better again. And within 2 weeks, his hair started taking on a very shiny, soft feel and appearance AND he's already gained much of his weight back. This cat should have died, but he's now looking & feeling awesome! And I fully credit Snoopy's complete, miraculous turn around to us using these 2 nutritional supplement products i.e. "FloraZyme LP" and "Epakitin". BTW, I ordered the 180 gram bottle in Feb. 2016 and received expiration dating of 9-2017. In mid-April 2016, I ordered the 300 gram bottle (that was then shipped from Amazon's warehouse) and received expiration dating of 05-2016!! YUP!!! 2.5 weeks of good dating!!! Lesson learned, DO NOT EVEN TRY & ORDER THE 300 gram bottle!!! ONLY ORDER THE 180 GRAM BOTTLE SIZE SO YOU CAN GET GOOD EXPIRATION DATING!

BEWARE: DOSAGE INSTRUCTIONS DIFFERENT ON LABEL VS. PRODUCT LISTING
We ordered this back on November 11th 2024 per recommendation from our vet. Their recommendation was 1g with breakfast and 1g with dinner. When I ordered this product, I checked the dosage information in the product description part of the listing in order to make sure that we are giving our cat the proper amount, and also to do the math on when we would expect to need the next refill (5 months out). At the time of our order, and still at the time of this review (January 20th 2025), the listing states that 1 scoop = 1g of this product. We're 1-2 months away from where we should need a refill, and we're almost out already, so we knew something was wrong. We checked the label on the container, which in hindsight we should have done when we got it, and it states that 1 scoop = 2.5g. Because of the information stated in the listing, we have been giving our cat 5g of this product per day for the past 9 or so weeks when she was only supposed to be getting 2g. Again, my mistake for trusting the listing and not checking the label, but this is a big deal when you are manufacturing and selling supplements.
