AmScope SM03 0.3X Super Widefield Barlow Lens For SM Series Stereo Microscopes (48mm)

For those of you who say that it refuses to focus at any distance, well, that’s not true. It fooled me for a while too. I also got the 0.5 for my SM-4NTP and I struggled to get that to focus too. In the end I had to raise the mount all the way to the top of the upright bar and then, and only then, does the 0.5 focus on my table (see photo). For the 0.3 I would have to use a longer upright, or better yet, raise the base with several pieces of MDF until the microscope is far enough from the table to focus. So yeah, for a huge distance focus from the table, use the 0.3... for a decent working distance use a 0.5. Remember that the greater the distance, the brighter the ring light has to be as well. This doesn’t mean the 0.3 is useless... you just have to factor in making a platform to raise the microscope enough.

Absolutely awful service from the sell - after waiting over a month of countless messages and waiting for them to resolve an issue with they order, they are now refusing to deal with it and don't seem to have even made a real attempt at understanding the problem. We recommend to avoid anything sold by AMScope.

Totally unable to focus with this!!! Information says it doubles the distance but it's not true. At the max height it's almost ok. Mathematically 0.3X is not 1/2... So it's almost tripling the working distance which makes it useless with the Amscope microscope.

Great solution for those moments where you need the scope, but want a wider field at a lower magnification - jewelry and watch repair are perfect examples!

Ich habe mir beide Barlow Linsen geholt 0.3 und 0.5 Kurz und Knapp beide Linsen funktionieren, aber die 0.3 er Linse macht nur Sinn wenn man im stehen arbeiten will. Deswegen in meinen Augen nicht einsetzbar. Die 0.5 er Linse schafft einen Arbeitsabstand von ca. 18cm. Das ist auch schon viel, aber gerade noch akzeptabel zum arbeiten. Hier liegt auch der Vorteil der Linse. Von ca. 9cm auf 18 cm den Abstand erhöht und man kann perfekt mit der Heißluftstation unter dem Mikroskop arbeiten. Ich hoffe, ich konnte bei der Kaufentscheidung behilflich sein und freue mich über jedes Feedback über die Kommentarfunktion bzw. die Nutzung des Abstimmungs-Buttons. Falls Fragen auftauchen werde ich die gerne so weit es möglich ist beantworten.
