I bought this specifically for rice water. I use a rice water rinse on my hair that I make at home. I needed something that would distribute the rinse through my hair and scalp evenly and this fit the bill perfectly. I could see where you might experience some leakage if you are using it for hair treatment or color. For the price and the purpose of use, this bottle was exactly what I wanted.

I got this to mix the oils for my hair care routine. It is easy to use, and I love that it has the comb attached, so you can really spread the oil evenly all over your scalp.

I got this to apply hot oil to my scalp once a week. I swim in a public pool at least three times a week, usually more often, and my hair really does get dried out, despite my best efforts to mitigate the chlorine damage.The health benefits far outweigh the damage to my hair, but I still want to keep my hair, y'all!So, I did some searching and found that there was a few things I could do to help my hair.One of those things is using a hot oil mask once a week, at the scalp.I won't give the recipe because then my review will get flagged, lol.But it has sound science behind it and was recommended by a friend who works in the cosmetic engineering industry.I discovered getting oil to the roots isn't as easy as I thought.So, I got this.I am able to add the oil recipe to the bottle, let it warm up a bit in hot water, and then drag it along my scalp.It makes it so much easier to apply and equal amount of the oil mask to the scalp than what I was doing before.PLUS, I am able to shake it up every few uses, to mix up the oils inside.And, if i don't use it all, I can save it in the bottle for next week.I knocked it over, unaware, and was thrilled to come back later and find that it had not spilled in the half hour it was laying on its side. A big bonus point right there.The texture of the outside of the bottle isn't exactly smooth, so it is a bit easier to grip than if it was smooth. Oiled hands and a slippery bottle is a great recipe for a mess.The plastic is not a thin or flimsy plastic, and holds up well to being squeezed. It doesn't stay stuck in the squeezed state (cheaper plastic bottles sometimes don't go back to their original shape after being squeezed too long.)I really like this and am really glad I found it.It has made applying oil to my scalp in equal amounts so much easier and so much cleaner and neater.

In terms of functionality, it does what it needs to do and is easy to use. No complaints in that department.The reason why I am giving a mediocre rating is because of how difficult it is to clean this out and the leakage from the crevice on the lid.Since I use this to oil my hair, I can't just swish around some soapy water in the bottle to wash the oil out of the inside. However, the opening is basically the size of a stick of lip balm (see images attached), so it is impossible to fit a kitchen sponge into the opening. I know there are special skinny scrubbers that exist for bottles like these, but it could have been made clearer in the product description and images that this bottle is by far not wide-mouthed, and therefore requires additional equipment to properly wash. The unique shape of the lid to the bottle also makes it difficult to wash the inside of the applicator.As for the leakage from the lid, there is a sort of crevice that wraps around the entire lid by design. My hair oil always leaks slowly from that gap after some of the oil collects in the lid. It's frustrating because the cap is already so difficult to wash, so I just have to wait until most of the oil stuck on the inside of the cap leaks out of the side(s).TLDR: This applicator does its job. Lid and bottle is hard to wash because the bottle-opening is so small. The lid leaks because it collects my hair oil in it. I guess you get what you pay for, though.

It came as a complete surprise how good this hair oiling applicator works. I try to have a routine and put oil on my hair every week or so. I usually switch between oils as it is not easy to mix them; they all come in different bottles and have their own pipettes. I always lose some oil trying to apply it at the back of my head and I just simply can't see and aim right. This applicator is a game changer. First of all, I can mix everything I want in this bottle. I combine them together and create my own blend. The plastic is soft and easy to squeeze. The applicator works like a comb. You simply tilt the bottle and the oil comes right out evenly through all the comb holes. I put the oil in my hair in 2 minutes, evenly covering every single hair. I could not believe how easy it was. The opening of the bottle is big enough to clean it without a problem. It has a measurement on the bottle if you want to follow some recipes. Now oiling my hair is easy and fun. I will recommend it to my family and friends.

I really like the idea of the product, but the oil leaked out everywhere in my cabinet.
