For Me, Better Than Melatonin
I do shift work so sleep is at a premium. I used to take melatonin, but if I can't sleep for at least 6 hours it can leave me foggy. I found apigenin as a recommendation and figured I'd give it a try. It's been a game changer. It's only active for 3 hours or so. I can use it when I only have a few hours to sleep. And it helps me stay asleep for the first couple of hours.Obviously, your mileage my vary, but everyone I've recommended to has said it's very helpful.

Great for insomnia.
insomnia for years. Tried lots of different stuff, but trying to move away from so much melatonin. I was able to cut my melatonin in half using this, it doesn't have any kind of sedating effects or after effects in the morning, but it really helps with initial falling asleep problems for me

May Inhibit CD38 in Vivo
This extract is found in celery, chamomile and grapefruit. It is not very bioavailable and little has been done to test improvements on this. Black pepper extract may help, so might certain oils or fats. Apigenin is lipid soluble. According to some research, bioavailability of apigenin may be limited to 11mg per 100mg. This bottle contains capsules 50mg each, meaning two may get you 11mg at most.Apigenin is found in chamomile tea, so simply drinking more of this at night may accomplish the same goal, though it is currently unknown just how much apigenin is in any one glass of tea, much less how much of it is absorbed.Apigenin is actually gaining popularity because of the possibility that it may inhibit CD38, a major NAD+ consumer which increases with age, causing the noted depletion of NAD+. For more info on NAD+ just google it. Rise in CD38 may be due to any number of factors further upstream, such as inflammation. Take care that your diet is not inflammatory first. Depending on your age, diet and other factors you may notice different results with this product. That said, rather than taking NAD+ precursors, this may be a better, and relatively cheaper alternative. Until studies show us more, or until recent drugs targeting CD38 pass phase III trials, this is all we have.Swanson is currently the only vendor selling apigenin extract. Previous labels claimed it was standardized to 96%. The new label mentions nothing about this. Swanson, subject to UK regulation, is still hit or miss on Labdoor and analysis on this product has never been done. You may or may not be getting the real deal.

It Works
Product worked great for my sleep issues but then I found out you shouldn't use with bio identical progesterone which I take. So on to another trial with something different

Worked amazingly for sleep, but gave me migraines
I was having a lot of trouble sleeping due to stress, and found an article saying that Apigenin could relax you and help you sleep longer.Well, it did. Never have I felt so relaxed and sleepy and good. Even if I woke up in the middle of the night, I felt so relaxed I could easily drift back off to sleep. It definitely increased my sleep duration.Unfortunately, about a wk into taking it I started getting really bad migraines. It did help A LOT with sleep, to the point that the migraines were almost worth it (I had really bad insomnia for awhile).Fortunately, Iโve since found other ways to improve my sleep so itโs not needed. Use caution when trying it out

Good night's sleep
I've had sleep issues for the past 4 months (Insomnia - onset & Maintenace). I've tried numerous aids, over the counter, natural and prescription. I'm now staying clear of the prescription stuff for the obvious reasons as well as they don't even work that great. I'm taking 50mg of Apigenin before bed, 200 mg of Magnesium Glycinate about 3 hours before bed and CBD/CBN full spectrum close to bedtime (9-9;30). The Apigenin was the latest addition as of the last couple of nights. The others have been my routine for about 6 weeks. The issue I was still having was some prolonged challenges falling asleep but major difficulty with going back to sleep after waking up between 12;30 - 3;00 AM.With adding the Apigenin its' been 8hrs with only one or two awakenings for which I am able to go right back to sleep. I don't know if this partly a synergistic response to all the supplements or Apigenin alone. However, the great nights' sleep has been most welcomed.
