This saw cuts through African Ebony like it was balsa wood! Works great on Balsa, too!
I am a luthier--a builder of guitars and instrument repairman to the stars--have been for 52 years. This excellent saw may seem hazardous at first take, even dangerous: but actually, this is the SAFEST saw to use, and the FASTEST, cutting easily through the hardest of woods and slicing fragile, softer woods with equal ease. When you cut on the 'pull stroke', you have much more control over your work; believe me. Additionally, Japanese saws waste far less wood than any other saw, a particular consideration when working with rare spalted or antique woods. I would rather use a Japanese style saw than any other, even a power saw. Their accuracy is matchless, allowing even complex curved cuts impossible with any other tool. Yes, they are razor sharp, for good reasons; and totally worth it. Brace up, y'all! Frankly, I would rather cut myself, God forbid, with a Japanese saw--a clean cut that typically heals by the end of the day--than gash myself with a typical push-stroke saw, which because of its wider kerf, will carve in you a divot 1/16" wide that takes a week to seal over! Once you start using this gem, you will be hooked--I guarantee. Just try one and see!

Saw Review
Really sharp, good quality but the blade itself is kind of thick for my applications

Should have got one a long time ago
Love this saw. Straight, smooth, and easy cuts with a nice thin kurf. I should have gotten rid of my western style saw a long time and went with the Japanese pull saw. if you are on the fence about one, buy it you will not be sorry.

You will never push again after pulling!!
I use these for precision woodworking! So easy and precise that you cannot get with a dovetail push saw or Swedish back saw. I actually bought this one for pruning out of doors! I even used it on 8 inch pines that came down in Hurricane Micheal without having to resort to the chain saw!

as advertised
This saw worked as good or better than expected. I have only used it on one project so far but it was well worth it. the only people that would be mad at this product are people who only want power tools.

Fantastic tool
It's very sharp and durable saw blade. Trust it for dealing with Hard/ Soft wood. It's a powerful tool.

Low-quality product
The saw has a good handle, and that's about all that can be said in its favor. The blade is poorly made and, while it does cut, it does not cut cleanly. It's hard to start crosscuts. Buying this saw was a false economy. Japanese-made saws are much better in quality. Avoid this one.
