You'll learn a lot about preserving food
I know almost nothing about proper food preservation. For me, preserving food means sticking something in the refrigerator, but it seems there is a whole science behind food preservation, and author Judy A. Smith has mastered it. I feel so grateful that the author has decided to reveal the secrets of proper food preservation. I think about all the money I have lost with food going bad, and if I had this book, I could have saved hundreds of dollars! You'll learn methods on canning, freezing, pickling, drying and more. Drying fruit sound pretty interesting, since we enjoy buying dried fruit at the supermarkets, why not just do it ourselves with fresh fruit. It's a lot healthier. Thanks, Judy, for writing such a great and informative book! Recommended.

Disappointing
Somewhat disappointed. Very basic. No pictures of any kind and a lot of grammatical mistakes such as poor punctuation, sentence structure and misspellings. You get what you pay for -which was information only.

this book has a lot of good info but lacks just about as much or more. it would be more informative if it had links or directions to the most common foods in each category of preservation category. not sure I would recommend this book to anyone now that I read it, that's how disappointing it was.

Excellent for those who already know the basics of canning and for the novice. Very easy to understand and very easy to use. I highly recommend this book to anyone who would want to can something occasionally or on a regular basis. A great book to hand down to generations to come.
