Packaging or jewelry smells bad

The product or case it comes in smells so bad! I do not know if I can air it out or rinse it before the event I am going to because I cannot stand the stench. Please air out or leave out of the box for days before wearing! It is pretty costume jewelry and the stones stayed in with shipping. Still may return because of the smell

Product was poor quality. Had a fish like smell. The necklace had no clasp and the set only came with the necklace and earrings, was missing the third piece. Gems were falling off of the jewelry.
