Unknown classic
I went to see Weapon at the Leeds Festival in 200?, and managed to track them down to a side tent off the main area. At their scheduled play time there was about 10 people in the tent. As they valiantly attempted to do their set a team of stage hands proceeded to walk in and around the performance, removing equipment and generally adding a Morecambe and Wise air to proceedings.I don't think anything could better sum up this bands's misfortune at failing to connect with the music scene of the time. Classic album.

Trip Rock!!???
Oxford's medal have gone through many transformations but at last they have landed a debut Lp. 'Drop your weapon' is an interesting recording mainly due to the bands toying with trip hop beats, blending them with traditional indie rock conventions. Singer James Hyatt puts in a great performance throughout 'Up Here For Hours' weeps a beautiful despair, whilst the strangeley titled 'Porno song' rocks with Oasis meets Manics guitar carnage, and 'Possibility' Builds so much and so effectivley that your left feeling as though something is going topple over. Medal have no doubt produced an interestingly good, solid debut and many records off 1999 will sell more but few will be better.
