Maybelline Burgundy Mascara, Lash Sensational Sky High Volumizing & Thickening, Eyelash Lengthening, Flake-Free Formula, Washable Coloured Mascara Infused with Bamboo Extract, Burgundy Haze

I have been consistently ordering this mascara now since it blew up on social media a couple of years ago and I'm still yet to find a match for both affordability and quality. I was nervous the first time I opened the burgundy shade as it does look VERY burgundy, however once applied to the lashes the colour difference is so subtle and not an obvious "omg she's wearing red mascara". My blue eyes are definitely more enhanced by this colour and it is now the go to shade I purchase. I apply mascara probably around 5x per week and I would say I go through around one tube every 6 months, so definite value for money. I also love the way this mascara removes, it is a tubing mascara - meaning when you wash your face it doesn't come off in watery streaks all down your face, it rubs off into small balls of product that easily wipe away. When the product is opened, for the first few uses I do find that there is a lot of product on the wand which can overload the lashes, but perhaps that is down to my personal preference as I do generally go for a more natural look.

Would give 5 star but unsure why product is unsealed. Nice mascara and does not feel heavy, also love the brush. Normally go for brown mascara but decided to try the burgundy and absolutely love it, still looks natural

I decided to try this burgundy mascara as a change from the usual black, although I've been using brown mascara alot more. Anyway I tried this burgundy mascara and I really liked the colour, the volume and length it gave to my eyelashes. I don't think anyone would say "Oh you're wearing burgundy mascara", but I know I am and I really like it. My eyelashes are quite dark with the odd grey ones appearing 🤨 now that I'm a mature lady🤣, but I think if you have lighter lashes it would definitely be more noticeable. What I liked most importantly, was the fact that it didn't give me burgundy panda eyes as the day progressed, and as a 'mature' lady and excessive hot flushes most mascara always end up under your eyes rather than on the lashes! I will definitely being buying this mascara again, great product, great price.

Firstly this particular Burgundy Haze Mascara product arrived unsealed. I stupidly used it and got an infection (or so I thought) in both eyes within a couple of hours. I told myself "oh well, that's my own fault for using an unsealed product" and threw it away. However I then bought a [fully sealed & shrinkwrapped] replacement from Boots a couple of weeks later and used it - I again got a very severe conjuctival reaction but I thought perhaps that my eyes hadn't cleared up properly from the previous tube and so threw the new mascara away and waited for my eyes to clear up using antiobiotic eye drops again etc. A full 2 Months later I bought another brand-new tube of the Burgundy Haze from Superdrug and applied it at 08h30 in the morning. My eyes started itching an hour or so later and by 12h30 I had a severe reaction in both eyes, cloudy vision from pus/infection, and I had to wash all the mascara off and apply antihistamine and antibiotic eyedrops. I have used the black and the brown-black versions of this mascara for years with absolutely no issues, so clearly it's whatever is being used to create the Burgundy pigment that is causing an allergic reaction. Some googling and research on make-up forums on Reddit and Facebook have shared similar stories. My review applies to the Burgundy Haze colour only! EDIT Late Oct 2024: After follow-up reviews with my opthamologist in consultation with Moorfields , due to persistent ongoing blurry vision and irritation over 6 weeks since the last incident, it is more than likely the CARMINE in it that icaused the very severe allergic reactions each time (made from crushed beetles apparently! ). I have also got trauma to the inside of my eyelids that will take up to 3 months to heal properly, and will probably be on long-term eyedrop use as a result , so please be careful if you have sensitive eyes anyway.

Best burgundy mascara so far! So I did give a couple of smaller brands a chance before ordering from Maybelline but honestly, sometimes brands get big for a reason. There's plenty of product in the tube and the applicator's the best I've seen on the market in a while - it leaves your lashes perfectly separated and curly, no clumpiness, no accidental panda eyes, no struggle to pick up product from the tube. With that said, a couple of things to keep in mind: 1. While the mascara looks a lovely purple colour in the tube, it will dry looking somewhat black (not a huge issue on my end but good to know) 2. It doesn't do as well on top of lash primer. While the applicator will work wonders on your bare lashes, if you use primer like I do most days, you'll need plenty of extra time and patience to ensure a good level of coverage However, even with the above in mind, I would definitely recommend. :)

I got the 'burgundy' version. Starting with the pros - and a bit of a controversial opinion. I'm not sure what some people are on about, the colour in this is very obvious. I'm very dark haired and have dark lashes, and the red/burgundy tint in this is obvious enough that I don't feel I can wear it for an everyday look (that might just be me though - if it's your style and you can make colourful lashes work with your makeup look, it won't be too much for you at all!). It's very obviously red. In that I personally am disappointed - a lot of people said it was subtle or brownish, and I really was looking for a subtle hint of colour - but on the other hand imho if you're looking for a BURGUNDY mascara don't immediately discount this. I have green-grey eyes and it does as advertised and makes them stand out a lot, so if you have grey/green/blue eyes and don't want a plain black mascara, this could be the one. Onto the negatives - I just don't like the sky high formula. I tried the original sky high mascara ages ago and found it overhyped, I thought it might have changed since and.... still nothing amazing. It's not a terrible mascara formula but it's at best ok. If it works for you it works for you I guess, I'm just not a massive fan.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolute Lieblingsmascara in einer besonderen Farbe Ich liebe die Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara schon lange, aber die Farbe Burgundy Haze setzt nochmal einen drauf! Die bordeauxrote Nuance ist dezent, aber trotzdem besonders – perfekt, wenn man etwas Abwechslung zu klassischem Schwarz möchte, ohne zu auffällig zu wirken. Vor allem bei hellen Augen kommt die Farbe wunderschön zur Geltung. Die Bürste ist wie bei der Sky High gewohnt sehr schmal und flexibel, wodurch man selbst die kleinsten Wimpern gut erreicht. Die Wimpern werden extrem verlängert, sauber getrennt und wirken nicht klumpig. Auch nach mehreren Schichten bleibt das Ergebnis schön. Die Mascara hält den ganzen Tag, bröselt nicht und verschmiert bei mir nicht – lässt sich abends aber trotzdem gut abschminken. Für mich eine klare Kaufempfehlung für alle, die lange Wimpern lieben und Lust auf eine elegante, etwas andere Farbe haben!
