This thing can really give a butt kicking workout. It is heavy and appears like it will last for a long time. What you get is a basic heavy-duty bike with no frills and almost industrial equipment like looks. You can easily add any features later. For example, I may buy a cadence tracking thing in the future, but it's not a necessity. I'm happy with this purchase. This thing works great.Ergonomics -- The seat and bars are firm. I have some padded biking gloves that helped, but it's not a big deal really. The sound of the chain is not particularly bad at all. Also, I have heard no screeching or squeeling-type noises. I think my heavy breathing might be equivalently loud to the chain. Anyway, I like to use headphones for a laptop for watching youtube cycling workout classes while on the bike. So, noise is not an issue. You could buy the belt version of this bike if you wanted potentially quieter operation. However, that version had lower Amazon reviews. Also, I think a chain is more reliable and replaceable by any standard bike chain if needed. Also, I did zip-tie on a plastic holder in the handlebar loop for a water bottle since it doesn't come with that. EDIT:bought a new seat for $20, and it makes the workout more comfortable.Install -- Installation is very easy. At the same time, have a little patience, read the instructions, and don't strip any bolt threads in a rush. After riding the first few times, I had to retighten the handlebar bolts slightly. This should be expected, and it hasn't loosened since. You could use locktite if you want, but I don't think it necessary.Maintenance -- Based on other reviews; I bought some dry silicone lubricant spray at the hardware store (Brand I used - WD40 Specialist Water Resistant Silicone Lubricant). I removed and sprayed the friction pads. Then, let them dry overnight and reinstalled them. The instructions for the friction pads removal is in the users manual. I also rubbed with a cloth some silicone on the flywheel where the pads touch, and let it dry. I did this lubrication at the start, and didn't wait for any friction issues to pop up. This has worked well so far. I will likely reapply silicone to the flywheel every so often. I also completely loosen the friction pad tension after each ride is done. This was mentioned by another reviewer. I imagine this might allow the felt pads to expand back slightly, but don't really know if it helps or not. EDIT:Found I need to reapply the silicone spray to the pads and wheel contact surfaces every 2 months or so to prevent a whistling/humming noise from appearing when resistance is applied. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Helping make informed decisions: *by on Reviewed in the United States May 15, 2014* Hi all, I bought this cycling bike through Amazon in the hopes of getting back in shape. In juggling multiple jobs, schools, and commuting, I did not have much free time for exercising. After reading dozens of Amazon reviews, I finally chose this bike.I paid $184 at the time (it was on sale) and waited excitedly for my new Sunny Health & Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike.Pros-Delivery was prompt-Upon opening the box, it looked very complicated: BUT everything one needs was included in the box and the directions were easy to follow- I was set up and testing in 20 minutes- The machine operates on a resistance basis (there is a knob you turn for resistance)- It is not SILENT (for those who wondered) but the noise is very minimal (I could not hear it over my music playing from my laptop several feet away).- The wheels (you install during setup) allow the bike to be easily moved from room to room- Seat is adjustable and so are the handle barsCons- Working out too hard can cause a faint burning smell (the bike uses Styrofoam pads for resistance and this wears down)Honestly, I do not believe the Sunny Health & Fitness Indoor Cycling Bike has any real issues. The burning smell is faint and after the first minute it becomes unnoticable (probably because I'm absorbed by the training and because the smell was always so faint). I have been using mine for half a year now yesterday (time flies!) and I have not had any problems with it.I thought the bike would be cheaper quality because of the price but the chrome cast finish and the metal on the bike are very solid. As previously mentioned, the bike is nearly silent (because it does not use chains for resistance but a wheel with Styrofoam pads) and this is great for me as I workout early in the mornings or late at night (and my downstairs neighbors have not complained).I would recommend this for anyone looking for a good way to get in cardio and burn fat. I used to be a cross-fit athlete and ran cross country, outdoors, and indoors. I was never really a machine person, but this bike gives me the flexibility to work out at home and I can really turn the resistance up. When Christmas came around I started looking for an add-on to the "home gym". We're in our mid-40s and wanted something a little less impact on the knees. I looked at elliptical runners, combo runner/bikes and then I came across these 'spinner' bikes.I read a ton of reviews, looked at the physical specs, and took a shot at this Sunny Pro Indoor Bike. The price was incredible and I really appreciated the video review posted by Brandon Taylor. Nothing beats being able to see something in action when you're talking about making an online purchase.Here's my input for your consideration.WILL THIS BE A GOOD FIT? I'm 5'10" (185) and my wife is 5'4" (120). The seat and handlebars adjust to setting that fit both of us no problem. That was a major concern for me because if it was too big for my wife the gift was a bust.CAN YOU ASSEMBLE IT? This came with everything you need to put it together. All the bolts, screws, washers, and hand tools. I'd recommend you pull your own household crescent wrench out of the tool box to help with installing the pedals, but not necessary.HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO PUT TOGETHER? I'm a step above Tim the Tool Man Taylor with home projects. I'm handy enough not to end up in the hospital put it that way. From the time I opened the box, it took 30 minutes. By myself. I'm no spinner bike expert, but I've got this bike positioned in the basement near the TV so I can watch those Virtual Running/Cycling DVDs and I think it's quiet. Even if my kid wants to watch his cartoons, I can ride, TV volume stays at a normal level, and I'm totally not disturbing him at all. Doesn't even know I'm there. The only time there's even a hint of noise is when my pedaling gets a little out of pace/sync. Otherwise - this is a solid and smooth ride.ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE BIKE? Like other reviewers - that seat is hard as a rock. I got the Mongoose gel seat cover and that helped, but after a 30 minute workout, my backside is still stinging. We'll be shopping for another seat.I had some minor "damage" out of the box from shipment (see the photo slideshow). The styrofoam shifted and that white foam basically adhered to a spot on the handlebars. There must have also been rubbing in the box as the paint on the tension-knob was scratched up. Totally superficial and wasn't worth really getting bent out of shape about. Especially on Christmas morning as I'm discovering this during assembly.That's why I only give 4 stars.
