Gold's Gym XR 5.9 Weight Bench

Summary - I'm 6'2" weigh 200 lbs and don't do intense workouts (yet). So far this bench works decently for me, after worrying about all the not so great reviews it has. Like a lot of people have said it's very cheap and does the job, so if that's what you're looking for, this will work for you too. I just got it, so will see if there are any future problems and will update this review if I do get them. Assembling - takes a while, but not hard. I was complaining to myself how many different types of pieces there were, thinking they could have simplified the design, but you only have to do it once. Quality - I was happy with the design and everything. The paint is pretty weak when you're tightening the bolts, but I don't care about keeping it perfect so it didn't bother me. It seems fairly stable so far. There was a slight defect on one of the metal frames, but after putting in the bolts and tightening, it wasn't a big deal. Storage - living in a small apartment, this thing does take up a decent chunk of space. Storing it away is a bit hard because it's an L-shape, but I've see worse benches which can't even be put away so I went with this one. I knew all that before buying it, so you'll have to decide for yourself if you'll have enough real-estate to keep this out. If I fold the back all the way down and flip the whole thing vertically, I can keep it off to the side so it doesn't take up a ton of space. Not saying this is a horribly space consuming thing, just could be better. Conclusion - Though it had a defect, I'll still give it a 5/5 because it was only $50, works well and so far has no obvious problems. Again, I will edit this review if there are future problems that do develop.

Relatively easy to assemble and sturdy enough to workout on. I do have one exception and that is the legs is not very sturdy and kind of Flimsy. But the rest of it is rocksolid.

For the price, this bench is just what I needed, for up to a moderate workout, and I'm very satisfied with it. While the back has a small side motion, it's not nearly as much as described in other reviews. I use it for decline sit-ups and dumbbell exercises, first thing when I wake up in the am. It comes with a picture chart showing various exercises, which are basic. I agree it's not suitable for a heavy workout with 100s of pounds. Assembly was straight forward and the instructions were easy to follow. There were a couple of very minor manufacturing flaws, which didn't affect the use...if I get suitably motivated to spend the time, it should be easy to fix.

This bench is ok at best. The angle is weird so there really isn't a flat setting. It is fine for incline and decline. Its not very sturdy and the leg pads just get in the way. But I guess you get what you pay for.

I purchased this for my home gym a while back for the value. It seemed like a good idea, until I started to assemble it and realized that it was smaller than I expected and not very sturdy at all. The assembly was pretty straight forward but, during it, you feel like you're missing pieces because the structure is so flimsy. Nope! I used all the pieces and tightened it up where I could and still a problem. I felt like it would literally collapse while I was using it. I can't return it so, I'll throw it out on bulk trash pick-up day. If you value your money, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone serious about getting a quality incline bench. Nothing at all against the seller but, Gold's Gym should be ashamed of themselves for putting their name on this.

I am so extremely happy with this bench! It’s way nicer than I anticipated. It was super easy to put together and I’ve used it a hand full of times in the last month and it’s very sturdy and great for a home gym! Couldn’t be happier with the purchase!!

Here are alot of bad review's but in my case wass perfect works for me very good I had no problems with the product I used everyday I weight 210lb and I am 5'10 and I recommend for the price is excellent

this bad boy was too easy to assemble. I mean i actually did it. First try. Bought for decline but then I started adjusting height and that's lol easy to do. My kids play on it and it's gunna hold so tech the whole family likes it lol

This is a fabulous bench and I'm not quite sure why there were videos showing it was unstable. The only reason I can think it that the person who stated the backrest was wobbly was because it wasn't secured properly with the tools when putting it together. This is a great bench, especially for the price. I use benches at the gym, but haven't been able to go for several months, and the sturdiness on this bench is quite impressive. My husband put it together quite easily and the back is very easy to adjust. The quality is very nice, it's material doesn't seem cheap to me at all and the name says it all. Gold's Gym as a great reputation!

I think it is a good bench for the price. I like everything about it. The only one thing it doesn't do that would have been nice is that the seat part doesn't go flat with the rest of it. So you can use the back completely flat but the seat doesn't go flat with it. There is a bit of a wobbly part to it as well. We might be able to fix it somehow. Overall I recommend it. It's not too big and bulky. Light to move.
