Definitely recommend this kit
Bought this yesterday (9 June 2026) to provide WIFI for my garage. The installation guide provides 3 setup methods: [1] Via the Mercusys App; [2] Via a Web Browser, and [3] Via the WPS button, but only [2] worked for me. I connected my laptop to the Mercusys via the ethernet cable supplied, and everything else was straightforward. My garage is located at the rear of the house, and I initially located the extender in the rearmost bedroom which is approximately 10 meters from the power source in the garage. Although the extender was displaying a steady green in the bedroom, the signal in the garage was very poor. Consequently, I moved the extender to the garage instead, and am happy to say that resolved the signal issues, even though the Signal Indicator on the unit varies between solid green and solid orange. A solid green light indicates a successful connection to the router, and that the extender is placed in a good location. Solid orange should mean that the extender is connected to the router, but too far away. However, I am consistently getting good download speeds in the garage, e.g. 105 Mbps, even when the extender is displaying solid orange. All in all, a very positive experience. Definitely recommend this kit.

A revelation
So far this has been amazing. So I've had a weak signal spot in my house for so long and as more devices enter the house, it has gotten more noticeably worse. Now in this weak spot is where I have my 'gaming setup' and you will know how frustrating it can be and how mad some can get over 'lag' and all sorts. Hence why I bought this and i can say it has been a revelation. It has been a great tool to not only boost the signal strength but also boost the speed too. I plugged it in right next to my computer and it says it has a good connection and only sometimes it will glow orange. It was an overall easy setup. There is multiple different ways to set it up and I took the website way and it was a little confusing but I understood it. I just plugged it in and then got my ethernet and plugged it into the adapter and into my computer (ethernet cables not included). It works great. I've not really had any issues with this so far and I don't think it's ever been close to as bad as before. I've seen massive improvements and I love it. The build looks nice too and gives a modern feel and I like it also. It doesn't produce any noise from what I can hear for people worried about that. Definitely recommend.

Range is good but speed is limited to 30 mbps max, not good for multiple devices or streaming.
the range extension is good, however this is a single band extender, works on 2.4 ghz only. it uses half duplex, in english this means it has to listen for traffic then send it to the router on the same channel so it will not be able to reach the nominal advertised 300mbps speed. real world speeds are about 30 mbps. In my case I have 150 mbps internet speed on my router, using this extender (ME12 300mbps) I get a good stable range but the max speed I can reach is 20 mbps. I will return it back as I need to extend the range and maintain a higher speed for tv streaming. Regarding setup, I set it up using the WPS feature, setup was quick and easy, pressed the wps button on the router, powered on the extender and pressed the WPS button on the extender and it was able to configure itself. the caveat is this way it creates a new network with the suffix _EXT, you will need to look for it on your device and connect to it, it will need the same password for your wifi to connect, the password is the wifi password configured on your router. You will need to do the connection bit once per device, i.e. to connect a cell phone look for the _EXT wifi network, connect to it, enter the wifi password. to connect a TV, repeat the steps on the tv. Another user pointed out that renaming the extender network and removing the _EXT suffix to keep the name exactly the same as the original wifi name allows connecting to the network seamlessly, that should work if you are extending the connection to the garage and are happy to be on 20mbps and don't want to manually select the extender network, however with in the house if the device changes from the original fast wifi to the extender network you will end up with the lower speed and you won't be able to tell, so my advise is to keep the _EXT suffix if you are using this device. I did some reading and found that the (Mercusys AX1500) seems to be the one that will meet my needs, it is a dual band extender, supports 2.4 and 5 ghz & wifi 6, it should be able to provide a 5 ghz wifi network for the endpoint devices like a tv or a cell phone within a 5-8 meter distance within direct line of sight from the extender, while the extender itself can maintaining a connection to the router on 2.4 ghz, using the two bands simultaneously should be get me into the 80 - 120 mbps speed zone which would be good enough for my streaming need.

Great product, Terrible instructions.
The range and strength on this is excellent, wifi 6 allows for fast internal communication. I've had this for a week and have seen no performance drops besides from when my router was having a hiccup. Cons: single button for reset/restart/WPS which is typical, but when pared with only one LED that doesn't accurately report which action is being undertaken, it's an issue. (Only during setup though). Extremely poor instruction manual, the ME80X is Easy mesh ready, the reason I purchased it, and there were no instructions on mesh set up, or any acknowledgement of it. (The package does come with extension instructions but this is not the same). For those needing help, BEFORE setup, (if already set up, hold the reset button for approx 10-20 seconds to ensure factory reset) login to your web based router manager (not accessible through app), turn on easy mesh from the left side bar, plug in the ME80X next to your router, once the LED is orange, press the WPS button on router and ME80X. On web manager scroll to the bottom, add mesh, search for WPS connection. Once it's been found it will automatically set up your mesh network. To confirm, ensure ME80X LED is solid green and that there is no "ME80X... Extension" when looking for available networks, should just be your home network visible. You can now unplug the ME80X and relocate to it's permanent location. Good luck, have fun.

This actually works amazingly
To be honest I was a bit skeptical about how good range extenders would be, we have a dead spot in the house where the extension was built and have always struggled with lagging. We recently installed an outside flood light camera which has been slow on video previews and live motion. Brought this unit and brand as it seems to be good from all the research I did. All I can say is setup took minutes and it truly is amazing no more issues, well worth the investment.

Makes my connection worse
Weirdly for me this is making my connection worse. It's a neat little unit & set up was easy enough. I have Virgin Fibre. I'm only in a flat but more office area is furthest away from the router so I hoped this would help. Once all set up I ran speed tests from my office. Connecting directly to the routers 2.4Ghz I get speeds of about 30 mbs. Connected to the extender I get speeds of around 15mbps. Same results with the 5GHz network. The extender is halfway between my router & my office & the green light is on which states good connection. So for me this is pointless & will be returned.

Good product
Good product works as intended love the fact you can switch which you need eg have one that is quicker but shorter range or long range but slower and generally the speed of the WiFi doesn’t decrease that much maybe at max 5mbps less

Best product for the price by far.
Firstly, I'm not great with products like this being 55 , I've had a wifi booster in the past and couldn't set it up, so it went in the bin ! The ME80X however was so easy to set up, and now I can either have 2.4Ghz at a longer distance, but with a reduced speed, or 5Ghz at an acceptable extended range, with the same speed that the router delivers. To explain, ... I get 130Mbs from the router, thats good for my village. At 2.4Ghz, I get 35Mbs but everywhere, even in the garden, at 5Ghz, I get 125Mbs all round the house ! Absolutely brilliant product, wish I had bought one years ago. My only gripe, and its not a huge one, is that it doesn't auto connect, so if you go out, when you come back you have to select the WiFi that you want, if you dont, it defaults to your router, and that is poor reception around 50% of my property. Id still give it 4.9 stars though, as I can live with the lack of auto connect.

FUNCIONA!
Despues de probar con varios aparatos, por fin un repetidor que funciona a la perfección. Gracias a el, llega la señal a una habitación que está lejos y escondida del router principal. Configuración sencilla.

Speed might not be the best but the signal is very powerful
It might not reach the full speeds like 3000 Mbps combined 2.5 and 5 GHz, but it can reach a lot farther than some name-brand devices - mainly my shed from behind 2 thick walls. Highly recommended for getting coverage to any IoT devices or smart cameras.
