A fantastic summary
Easy to read, backed by an extensive set of drawings. A very useful introduction to architectural styles. And cheap as chips!

Useful.
I am currently working on redeveloping an old Victorian and Edwardian hospital site and this is very good for dealing with the conservation officers and planners! It also helps explain the timeline between tudor-post war houses with excellent hand drawings and details of the various styles. I personally found the book to be a lot thinner than I was expecting and some of the architectural styles are covered only on one page where I would have liked it to be a little bit more in depth.

An excellent reference source!
I work as a self-employed carpenter and am always looking for ways to expand knowledge of my trade - this book is well written and although is sadly lacking in colour images, there are plenty of detailed black and white drawings throughout which help to illustrate examples of period property and features - recommended!
