It just doesn't get any better than this,
I'm ashamed of myself because I bought and ENJOYED and LEARNED SO MUCH from this wonderful book by this truly AMAZING and caring author. I had already seen all of the positive reviews and feedback on it and I knew they were all true and they said everything that I could have thought to write already so I figured my review wouldn't really matter. I felt it would just get lost in the crowd. NOW, I KNOW better. I've learned that reviews really DO matter and they really DO help and support the author just as much and/or even more than the negative ones do. I can honestly say that each and every positive review here is the absolute truth. I think it's also very important that you understand that this author, Eevi Jones, did not just write this book to make money for herself. She did it because she truly IS a caring person with a caring soul. She has been through and struggled with every single issue that each of us other children's' authors must endure. Eevi cares enough to help us avoid the pitfalls and frustrations and confusions that she went through. She truly DOES. She has proven herself over and over again not only through her books and videos, but through her classes and university. I have nothing but praise and respect and love for this special lady. Once you read her words I know that you will too. This is more than just a one time read. Oh no, this is an all time reference and a lasting reminder that there are still loving people out in the world who truly care about and support you on your way to success. Eevi is the epitome of what teachers and guides should be.

Helped with my confidence to move forward on my first published book.
I enjoyed reading all the advice that came in the book. It boosted my confidence to "I can do this!" Although I did not publish a picture book (soon to come) I followed through with my middle grade novel, Saving Gramps. Eevi is such a positive person her advice radiates that on each page. The only draw back in the book are the small graphics. I am now revisiting all her advice for the picture book I am working on! Thank you Eevi.

Save Yourself Potential Frustration or Even Years
A few years ago, I wrote, illustrated and self-published 5 books for struggling/reluctant readers or simply for children who are ready to move from single letter recognition to reading CVC words, in a story format. I managed to get them completed and published, but it was a bear, a BIG BEAR! There’s a learning curve for self-publishing and an even steeper one for illustrated children’s books. Even though I got mine out there and selling, I hit an obstacle that’s held me back from self-publishing more, building a backlist, and helping and delighting more kids, an obstacle which Eevi has now given me the guidance to overcome: - finding and working with an illustrator For me, this is the most perplexing, daunting part of the process. I don’t want poor illustrations, and I don’t want to waste huge chunks of money or tear my hair out working with someone difficult or disappointing. I have about 8 more ideas for books, but what’s in my mind to accompany the text or story is either waaaay beyond my artistic ability or in a completely different style. But when I tried to figure out how to find, hire and work with an illustrator, I was frustrated and gave up. Eevi’s info on this alone is worth way more than the price of the book. And she covers much more than that. She also has great advice for other aspects of the process, which I had already found out on my own, but which could really be helpful for others to have all in one place and streamlined, as well as a templates, swipe files and other resources. I’d say, if you want to self-publish one (or more!) children’s books, especially illustrated children’s books, you can either struggle through trying to piece together all the information yourself (like I did, probably getting stuck and giving up, or at least slowed down). Or you can learn from Eevi’s experience, avoiding a quagmire of mistakes, frustrations or unnecessary delays, and get your children’s book idea out of your head and into the hands of children. I’m convinced, if I had had How To Self-Publish A Children’s Book years ago, I’d be years further along with a bunch more books in the hands of kids, helping and delighting them.

Comprehensive
I purchased this book after consuming several dozen of Eevi's YouTube videos, partly as a way to support a content creator I appreciate but also in the hopes of learning a few more "ninja tricks", as Eevi might call them. Instead I got a complete "How to Ninja" encyclopedia, metaphorically speaking! The info in this book is comprehensive and delivered in a logical, digestible format that makes it easy to refer back to. Eevi includes multiple links to live documents on her website, provided for free; a clever way to avoid her content from becoming irrelevant or out of date. I will deliver one criticism: this book truly wants to be an e-book. I bought a physical copy, delivered via Amazon Australia's print on demand system, and the print quality left something to be desired. Pictures are low-detail and often pixelated into uselessness, the cover was cut roughly with visible serated edges and the whole book has a very "self published" air to it (perhaps appropriate). Add to that the generous abundance of Internet links and the book begins to feel like it would rather be something digital. Despite the above gripe, I am glad I spent a little extra to own the 'acoustic' version of this book over it's e-book form; I feel it made the book more approachable, which made it easier to keep reading in the later chapters where things start to get technical. If you're at all interested in the topic of self publishing for little ones, I don't think you could regret purchasing this book. Oh, and if you need some validation of the author's credentials, check out her YouTube channel.

I have recently completed reading the book, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. Yvonne Jones placed a strong emphasis on children's literature in her work, particularly focusing on picture books. However, she also delves into chapter books intended for older children. Other author will profit from the advices, too. It offers a wealth of advice on collaborating with illustrators, cover designers, editors, and more. Moreover, it provides insights into a range of marketing strategies, not exclusively tailored to children's literature. Additionally, the author manages a highly regarded YouTube channel known as "Eevi Jones."
