Easy installation after you get it right measurement. It says easy to cut but this thing was not near easy to cut. So far so good just waiting how long it last Update: I bought this on October 6 /2019and it broke on June 26/2020 . Didn’t last that long. The last months the shade won’t stay firm it will slide opening and leaving the sun come in . UPDATE... I would like to regret for what I said on the last update, the reason why I’m saying this is because After this one broke I order another one but different brand, let me tell you it only lasted 9 days !!!! This one lasted ONE YEAR!!! And it gave me no problem until the last few weeks ! So I returned the one o got and lasted 9 days and I already re order one more of this one and it is already installed . Excellent product comparing with others on the market ..

I had another one of these before, but unfortunately that company stopped making them or selling them on Amazon at least. In comparison to my last one, this one feels much cheaper. It is made of a single thin Sheet and definitely feels Like you have to pull it slowly or it’s going to rip. The suction cups are good and it does quite well. It doesn’t cover my entire windshield , there are gaps on the top and the bottom. I didn’t realize that I was buying two of these. They should be selling these individually. I paid $50 for two, wouldn’t buy again but won’t be returning . Update: I gave this product 4 days and I am absolutely annoyed of it. As said previously, it doesn’t cover my entire windshield first of all and I have a sedan. Next, when I attempt to close it, it is a disaster. It doesn’t recoil well, it’s so paper thin and cheap that it struggles to get back to its resting position. It’s already crinkling . It’s popped off when I have left it on during work. Because of the large gaps on the top and bottom , it doesn’t do a good job at keeping the sun or heat out. Just don’t waste your time on this unless you’re willing to spend a few minutes after each use, carefully putting it back together .

I bought mine a little over 2 years before this review. It has worked for me. The suction cups do lose suction now and then. Boiling them in water helps to rejuvenate and get them to work better. I haven't experimented with other suction cups for this application, but small ones of similar size generally offer similar quality function. In the picture, you can see the top of the screen fans out when closed. It's slightly annoying, doesn't really affect the product's function or cause difficulty with visibility driving. The biggest problem I've had is with the "clip" that attaches to one suction cup to keep the screen open is made of a fairly poor, brittle plastic and has broke twice. The first time, the top section broke and I thought to fix it, but it worked to fight gravity and clip from the bottom up. The clip has completely broken a couple days ago, so I was looking into whether I could just get a replacement clip (I'm a little cheap to spend another $30, but I would probably be down to buy a $6 clip). However, I will be manufacturing a replacement with wood and gluing it to the existing, broken clip. I wonder how effective this actually is. There's gaps on the sides, since it's mounted by the suction cups. I kind of wish it had kind of an overhang so the shade would cover the whole window. My custom wood clips may well provide such functionality on the clip side. TIP: It seems like most of the problems people are complaining about is due to them not properly cutting the shade to fit their windshield properly. I never cut mine, although I have thought to cut out where the rear view mirror is to help it sit closer to the window. I also found it helpful to open/extend the screen, then open my visors to help hold it in place.

This is the greatest thing in sliced bread! Covers the whole windshield, blocks out the sun, keeps the car cool, even in Texas where I live! I will have one for every car

Howdy, I bought one of these a few months ago when I first saw them, as I felt having a Sun Shade mounted to the windshield would make it easier for me to use. While that was in fact correct, i recently realized that though the idea is great, this specific product could use some work. Whatever its made out of is NOT durable, and the string that made it snap back in its accordion style has snapped on 1 side, making it unusable. I did a search to see if there are other brands of this, but no luck, the ones I did find seemed worse in quality than this. I would say if your willing to shell out the $$$ just to see if you're someone who would like this, than sure go ahead and buy it, but if you want a sunshade that will still be in use in about a year, keep looking! Other issues: - I'm 5'10 and its a bit of a pain to reach across to passenger side to start pulling it. - In the sun, the metal portion that you need to hook can get very hot, and attempting to use the leather strap on its own WILL NOT WORK. Its nearly impossible to actually place it into the "mount hole" without touching the hot metal. - Suction cups will fall off in the cold, not that big a deal but was puzzled at first as to why it had fallen. - You most likely need to cut a divot into the center to go around your rearview mirror. - Again it seems like its made from cheap material, the actual reflective portion is super flimsy, and if you don't guide it all the way back when your done using it, youll find that it starts bunching up strangely. - Whatever elastic they used for the string was where mines failed, and it seems if this piece breaks it becomes nearly completely trash. I can still use it as sun shade, but now to remove it is too much of a pain. TL:DR Buy it if you think you would find it helpful, and are ok with possibly buying it again within a year, otherwise wait till someone makes it better.

I purchased the truck size for my Prius v (which has a very large window for a car) and cut a few inches off the shade and it works great. It goes right around my dashcam and rear view mirror and blocks the sun out well. I am surprised how well the suction cups are holding in the blazing sun and July / August heat of the Mid-Atlantic region. Hasn't fallen down a single time since mounting it just over a month ago. I cleaned both the windshield and the suction cups with isopropyl and a microfiber cloth prior to mounting. I suspect the suction cups will occasionally come loose in winter temps, but I certainly won't be using the shade in the winter anyway. The shade retracts amazingly well---much better than expected. My only gripe is that the black metal frame can get very hot in the sun and although there is a nice leather flap for pulling the blind open and closed (that gets a bit hot as well, but not nearly as much as the frame), I still find myself needing to grab a bit of the frame to get it secured to the suction cup mount which holds the shade open. Overall it is a great design and with great functionality.

I really wanted this to work. I have a dash cam and I wanted something relatively simple to just “pull” across my windshield that wasn’t involving a bunch of fumbling trying to get it up and around the cam. This accomplished that endeavor. However, it is extremely flimsy paper that can rip super easy. On top of that, the sun room cups holding it in place release easily once the temperature starts to decrease as the sun sets. It easily reduces the temp inside the car by at least 10 degrees. Unfortunately, when I came out after work, the sun had set, and the functions came undone and the whole thing snapped closed and ripped slightly. I cleaned the windshield and suction s cups again really well and applied the next day again with moisture in the cups. It held up until the sun set. After word, it again was a crumbled piece of paper mess in the corner of the windshield. Ripped beyond continued use this time. Back to the umbrella one. These were only about 4-5 hours of use each time. I would consider finding a more permanent way of attaching to car if you get one along with maybe laminating the paper and making sure there is nothing in its path to rip if it comes loose.

Pro: Easy Install Easy to use ( just note if you have short arms and a long windshield you might need to reach or enlist passenger's assistance to close) Does NOT obstruct visibility when open. Seems durable enough and keeps car cooler. CON: If in a very hot climate (105+ degrees F) you might experience the suction cup that you attach when closing to come off. I haven't had any issues with the suction cups that hold it on the windshield, just the one it attaches to when closing (probably due to the constant tugging from attaching and detaching) however it has only fallen off twice and it has been several weeks in between. Why I love it: I forgot to put the sun shade on or just don't. It is a hassle to fold the twist ones when you have children and are busy or in a hurry. The fold or roll ones are easy but can not be stored easily near windshield, so must reach back or to trunk to get and use. This sunshade is conveniently attached out of the way on the windshield and ready to use. It literally takes seconds to close and open. My dash and seats are no longer getting harmful heat baking them. My car is cooler and i am not running around trying to find the sunshade or struggling to put it away. Honestly, if this only lasted a year, i would gladly pay for one every year. The benefits are wirth it.
