Featuring DUOCLEAN DETECT, this dynamic two-brushroll system automatically senses hidden dirt, debris, and hair, then activates Detect Pro to boost suction and brushroll speed precisely where it's needed. DIRECTION DETECT ensures peak performance by sensing your movement—forward or reverse—and sending targeted suction in real time for consistent, powerful cleaning in every direction. DIRT DETECT takes on the messes you can’t see, identifying deeply embedded dirt and hair in carpets and automatically amping up suction to remove it effortlessly. With EDGE DETECT, suction intensifies within 2 inches of walls and corners, capturing debris other vacuums miss—even under baseboards. FLOOR DETECT completes the system, sensing floor types and intelligently adjusting suction and brushroll speed for optimal performance on carpets, hardwood, and everything in between. Designed for a fresher, healthier home, this vacuum also features Odor Neutralizer Technology to fight bad smells from the inside out, while the Anti-Allergen Complete Seal with HEPA filtration traps 99.99% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum—so they never make it back into your air (based on ASTM F1977, particles 0.3 microns or larger). With a 5-year limited warranty and versatile accessories for tough messes, this Shark vacuum redefines deep cleaning with unmatched intelligence, power, and confidence. ## Features - ULTRA-POWERFUL suction and hair pickup. - DUOCLEAN DETECT: The two-brushroll system automatically senses hidden dirt, debris, and hair, and the Detect Pro reacts by boosting suction and brushroll speed for maximum performance. - DIRECTION DETECT: Senses the direction you're vacuuming and automatically sends powerful suction where it's needed, giving maximum cleaning performance in both forward and reverse. - DIRT DETECT: Detects hidden dirt, debris, and hair embedded deep inside carpets, and devours it by automatically boosting cleaning power. - EDGE DETECT: Automatically increases suction power when cleaning within 2 inches of an edge or wall. Thanks!** A: Quite effective. Golden retriever and a girlfriend who both leave hair EVERYWHERE. We have hardwood and area rugs, and a carpeted bonus/makeup room. Our other shark w/o zero-m technology would have hair wrapped in about 2 seconds of using it. Just got a zero-m shark (duoclean uv700) and I vacuumed the entire place after a week of no vacuuming and 0 hair was wrapped around either rollers. I would recommend letting the rollers spin for a few seconds after finishing vacuuming to help release any hair that may have gotten wrapped (this is what I did). 12/10 recommend the duoclean/zero-m shark vacuums. I suspect that everyone who claims they have hair wrap do not let the rollers spin for a few seconds after they’re done. Hope this helps as I was wary of reviews claiming it didn’t work as advertised. **Q: what accessories are included?** A: a review posted on July 20, 2019 states "the Motorized Pet Cleaning accessory was not included as advertised, although it was listed in the documentation that came with the vacuum. I called Shark Customer Support and was told it is no longer shipped with the vacuum, but can bought for an additional charge. In its place a hard floor accessory was provided that DOES NOT EVEN attach to vacuum." So the response by the manufacturer should be updated to reflect the Deep-Cleaning Motorized Pet Tool no longer comes with the Shark vacuum. **Q: How does this (az1002) differ from model az1000w? thanks!** A: Hello JJ, We are happy to assist you with your inquiry. The Shark® APEX® Upright Vacuum AZ1002 and the AZ1000W are the same vacuum. The difference is the attachments and where they are available for purchase. The AZ1000W includes the 12" Crevice Tool and Pet Multi-Tool. The AZ1002 includes the 12" Crevice Tool, Pet Multi-Tool, and Deep-Cleaning Motorized Pet Tool. We hope this information helps. Helpful Shark **Q: What is the pet multi-tool and the deep-cleaning motorized pet tool?** A: Hello Kathleen, We're happy to help with your inquiry. The Pet Multi-Tool is two cleaning tools in one. The stiff bristle brush removes stuck-on debris from a multitude of surfaces. You can detach the bristles to reveal an upholstery tool for cleaning stubborn pet hair. The Deep-Cleaning Motorized Pet Tool is powered by a motor. The motorized brush removes pet hair and embedded dirt from stairs, upholstery, tabletops, bookshelves, car interiors, and more. We hope this information helps.
