This is a very nice rover from Sunfounder. I've been looking for a "Mars-like" rover for some time and came across this unit. It has a solid design and performs well. Very good printed instructions and on-line assembly videos as well. If you're new to electronics, Sunfounder has very good tutorials to go along with the build process. If you're just looking to assemble and have fun playing, you can just do that but I encourage at least going through the online tutorials as they explain how all the systems work and how the programming that runs it all functions. It's beginner friendly. I would recommend this kit to anyone looking for a new gadget to have some fun with.

The construction of the GalaxyRVR Mars Rover is great - a very sturdy aluminum frame The written instructions for the assembly of the rover are well illustrated but the online assembly videos make assembling the rover very easy. When I received the rover it had one faulty IR obstacle avoidance sensor and one wiring harness that was wired incorrectly. I contacted SunFounder and worked with a great customer support representative. She initially provided troubleshooting hints for the IR sensor (potentiometer settings, etc.). When we determined that it was indeed a faulty sensor, she quickly shipped me a new IR sensor and a new wiring harness. She periodically updated the shipping status of the replacement harness and sensor via email. I definitely will give the customer service 5 stars. When the rover was completed it worked flawlessly. The online tutorials are a great way to learn more about the electronic components and the Arduino coding used by the rover.

I am an electronics engineer, and I spent a whole day trying to troubleshoot it. I was never able to connect it to the wifi, not its own hotspot, not my home wifi, and not with my phone hotspot. It's supposed to light up after setting it to run position and pressing the reset button. It never worked. I tried everything on their docs website, and the rover wouldn't budge.

Straightforward assembly instructions, easy to assemble, and performs as advertised. I have purchased four different robotic kits and this one is by far the best. Of the four kits two were SunFounder and they have the highest quality products, the clearest instructions, and excellent support.

Overall, this was a fun build. However, no matter what I tried the built-in Wi-Fi network would not connect to my phone. I tried multiple ways and multiple things but nothing worked. Sun founder app wants a password which they don’t give you. I had to dig really deep into AI to find out that apparently you use a generic password.Typically 123456 or 12345678. If anyone purchases this galaxy Rover and happens to read this review, maybe it will help. Overall, I think the company is somewhat of a rip off because when I did an online chat with them, I was asked to pay a five dollar fee for something and beginning this month and every month thereafter, I would be paying some kind of a $65 fee. What a joke! this is not customer service. This is customer rip off. I also determined that just maybe I have a bad Wi-Fi module. So I ordered another kit and I’m going to give this a second try and maybe I’ll get lucky this time. overall, however, pretty good quality parts and it did assemble quite well, but the Wi-Fi issue is a real turn off for me. By the way, controlling it with a phone app is the only way to control and operate this thing. So if you can’t get Wi-Fi connected, then you’re pretty much screwed. Update four days later. Same deal as the first one. The Wi-Fi barely even connected on this second one. The QR codes in the paper manual are 100% useless. These people ought to be in prison for false claims about their product. Wi-Fi is an absolute joke in this thing. The camera sucks pretty much too. Do not buy. Do not buy. Do not buy.

Building this model is the easy part, programming the Raspberry Pi computer is the challenging part. I do not recommend trying any of these "Python Language" based projects unless you know what your doing with the computer language and have the means (computer, keyboard, connections, etc...) to complete it. Recommend doing your research before investing your money. These are NOT "Plug-and-Play" projects.

Great kit. Excellent design, great way to learn coding with a strong communal support group sure to supply plenty of ways to innovate. Easy to build, a great introduction to robotics for the whole family.

Assembly is more complex than I wanted it to be. Its cool and fun once its setup but the assembly takes away from it

構成とパーツの両方とも良く出来ているキットです。 arduinoを触ったことがあると、組み立て後が楽かもしれません。 とても分かりやすい説明書が付いていて、あまり組み立てに困ることは無いのですが、他にもオンライン上に動画でのチュートリアルや詳しい解説が有って、組み立てや動かすまでを判りやすくサポートしてくれています。 CPUにはarduino互換のボードが使用されていて、敷居があまり高くない標準のIDEが使えるのも馴染みやすいと思います。 細かいパーツは袋で小分けにされていて、M3×6以外は2個余る数が用意されていました。 組立は説明書だけで判ると思いますが、判らなければWeb上の動画を見ると良いと思います。 組立が終わると動かす準備となりますが、ボードへ書き込むまでに私が引っかかった点は次の3点です。 1．付属のUSBケーブルでは私のPCからボードを認識できませんでした。 2．arduino IDEへSoftPWM.hを追加する必要が有りました。 3．同じくarduino IDEへSunFounder_AI_Camera.hを追加する必要が有りました。 タブレットへアプリをインストールし、動かしてみるとこのキットかなり楽しいです。 カメラを見ながら動かすことが出来、ウルトラマンなどの特撮物を見ている気持ちになれます。 初期状態ではこのキットがWi-FiのAPとなって、そのネットワークへ接続して操作を行う形で操作を行います。 プログラムの一部を書き換えてボードへ書き込むと、既存のWi-Fiへ接続してそのネットワークで動作させることも可能です。 試してみましたが、少し反応が遅かったので標準のAPモードで遊ぶのが反応が良く楽しいと思います。 また、このキットはただ動かすだけで無く、使われているパーツの理解を深めることが出来るよう学習コースが設けられているのも良かったです。 とにかくよく考えて作られているキットで、しばらくはこれで学びながら遊べそうです。 こういった物がお好きな方にも、これからロボティックスを学ぼうとしている学生さんにもお勧めなキットでとても気に入りました。 これは本当にお勧めです！ \18,880-（\1,200- OFFクーポン有り）

C'était un cadeau de Noël pour mon fils de neuf ans. Une bonne après midi de montage à deux (impossible pour un jeune enfant seul), et même à deux, nous avons fait une erreur de branchement sur les capteurs à ultrason. Deux jours pour trouver l'origine du problème alors que je fais de la robotique depuis plus de 20 ans. Un super petit robot qui fait rêver à l'ingénierie spatiale. Mon fils est trop heureux !
