As I approach 80 y.o., I have simplified things by removing the brook and waterfalls but I missed the sound of moving water. I ended up driving a long segment of aluminum tubing into the ground and placing the bamboo onto it without crimping the water tubing. There is a hose that goes from pump to fountain. It was long enough for my application but you could always exchange it for a longer one if you wish. Just be careful of the amount of lift. Pumps are rated to only supply certain lift capacities. Some can only lift water 4' and the larger ones can lift further. My fountain is positioned just like their photo with the pump in an underground reservoir. **Q: How do you support a large heavy bowl on top of the water hole for the water to drop back down?** A: The bowl acts like a reservoir where you can put the pump or you can do what I did was to dig a hole around the bowl so the water spills over and you can collect the water in a basin with the pump in it so the water gets recirculated back to the bowl **Q: Can you use solar panel to power the pump?** A: The pump provided is electric. You could get a solar pump and use it instead. I removed the waterfall and installed this bamboo spout. When I test mounted it next to the pond, even though it is only three feet high, it looked too big in proportion to the pond. I was going to saw about a foot of it off but my wife talked me into just burying it about ten inches and surrounding it with stones to get it to blend in better. Couldn’t be happier with the results. Installed a blue tooth controlled switch for the pump so I can control it with an app on my cell phone. The photo shown is using my existing pump, not the pump that comes with the spout.
