Fast, Accurate and User-Friendly The GXT60 Infrared Thermometer’s fast responding circuitry measures temperature every half second allowing to precisely pin point hot and cold spots created by air leaks around windows and doors. It is designed to measure temperature quickly and accurately without having to touch the object, such as safely verifying oven or grill temperature from a distance. Its 16:1 distance to spot ratio offers best in class accuracy and response time with a temperature measurement range of -58 to 1112°F (-50 to 600°C). The GXT60 measures emitted, reflected and transmitted energy, which is collected and focused onto a detector two times per second for precise accuracy. The meter also has a bright laser pointer indicates precise location of measured area. Packed with Advanced Features The GXT60 determines temperature by measuring emitted, reflected and transmitted energy. The unit allows for the adjustment of the measured energy for different surface types (adjustable emissivity). For precision measurements requiring the highest accuracy, the emissivity can be adjusted to a specific material type. Emissivity is digitally adjustable from 0.10 to 1.00, in increments of 0.01, for testing a variety of materials. A table of emissivity values by material type can be found in the Geatex manual. The meter also displays maximum, minimum, average, and difference temperature. It include extra feature Hi / Lo Alarms for quick temperature indication in and out of a set range. A Wide-Range of Applications The GXT60 is designed for HVAC/R, electrical, industrial maintenance, automotive as well as quality control and fire prevention applications. Working fine for what I need
Seems to always work fine. If you pull the trigger like a madman checking everything in site it seems to loose a little accuracy. Worth the money in my opinion

A real piece of junk
This gun does not work. I point the laser in the same spot and get readings that are different by a huge amount. What a piece of junk. Do not waste your money.

Perfect pyrometer for parsimonious persons
This thing is AWESOME! Readings are VERY repeatable, and with the 'zero degree C' test (a glass of ice water), it was spot on at zero degrees C. Great for checking the AC registers and HVAC components without getting out my Fluke meter.The different functions are fairly easy to page through (high reading, low reading, delta...etc...etc..) I appreciate how easy the batteries are to get at as well. The case that it comes with is adequate for the price of the gun.If one likes to know what temp their oven is running at or the coils on their stove, or BBQ...etc...etc... This is the pyrometer for you!

WOW!
I have had several IR thermometers before that never lived up to their hype. So I thought I just needed to lower my expectations when I bought this one. Boy was I wrong! I wanted this to use when exact measurements weren't necessary. I wanted to see how far off this meter would be so I took out my "lab grade" FLUKE to test against. To my surprise the TopG was just as accurate! Granted the FLUKE was more accurate only because it measured to three decimals. But, for the price the TopG performed beyond my expectations!

Accuracy at a good price
I was hesitant to purchase this due to the price,thought quality and performance would suffer.I work in a shop,compared this to two much more expensive units other techs have,beat them hands down.Using the vehicles temp sensor reading with a scan tool at full temperature,one of the other units was off by 35 degrees,the other one borrowed from a tool truck was accurate if held within 2-3 inches from the thermostat housing where the temp sensor is.I was able to hold an accurate reading over a foot away with this unit.The other units also weren't reading exactly where the laser is pointing(laser is above or below the thermal sensor).This unit has the thermal pickup between the lasers,works perfect.The emissivity for aluminum threw it way off scale(same result with the $200.00.unit I was trying) so I am not sure if the chart is misprinted or what.So far this unit surpasses my expectations.
