Nelson-Rigg Trails End Adventure Motorcycle Tank Bag, fits Most Honda Yamaha Kawasaki Adventure Bikes

Has plenty of room, fits an entire helmet. It also comes with a rainproof cover. I really like this product. It's very well made.

Just installed it on BMW R1150GS (photos) and major points are:- Very practical size for SLR camera, powered GPS or cell phone (inside map window), winter gloves, straps, misc stuff- Securely mounts to curved tank with easily installed straps which can stay with bike- Narrow design avoids handlebar bump (and annoying horn button contact on GS)- Clever rain cover will expand up with tank bag and is quite secure, including anchor loops that go around bag's straps- Looks nice, but can be easily removed and carried if it looks "too nice" to leave unattended- Easy access to fuel cap if two front buckles are released and secured with strap keepers- Build quality is very good but, as expected, not as heavy duty as tank bags costing over $200, especially map window- Build materials appear more suited to highway use, not bouncing down dirt roads if it is heavily loaded- No experience with its real world touring performance yet, but my 35 years of riding motorcycles and owning 7+ tank bags leads me to rate this one as a winner that will last a long time with reasonable care.

Update: I bumped up my rating from 3 to 4 stars.I spent some time looking at other options for a Tiger 900, and at the end, I didn't find anything I was sure enough about to spend a lot more money. Going ahead with this tank bag for my planned ride in the Southeast this coming summer.As I said below, I had lost the rain cover. I found a replacement on their website for $15.95! I was pleasantly surprised, expecting that they might really want a high price for a replacement part that you can't find elsewhere. And, free shipping on that cover!This mostly served my purposes on a trip to Alaska. But, lately I've been looking for other tank bags, so what does that tell you?For context, this is the first I've had for an adventure or enduro bike, and there are necessary compromises there because of the fuel tank shape, and leaving room for moving around on the seat while off road. I've been used to generously-sized bags for street bikes.The fit on my Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro is decent. After a bit of riding, the bag contents settle a little, and this requires snugging down the straps again (not a flaw, in my judgement; I expect you'd encounter this with any bag this shape), but, after that, it stays put even off road and after dumping the bike. The bag never gets in the way while riding.The rain cover fits great, and does a good job keeping things dry. Unfortunately, this cover was one of the casualties of my Alaska ride; it decided to run off at a quick stop to change gloves. Surprisingly, not a lot of water got into the back without the cover. Yes, water soaked through the fabric during a prolonged ride in the rain, but didn't intrude immediately, or in volume.Now, the problems come in the basic design. The rear portion dips down low, so lots of small stuff gets lost at the bottom. (Maybe I'll look for a small bag just the right size for this area and keep small things in that). Would have been nice to have a couple of compartments along the side and/or back to organize small things.The side pockets are the biggest disappointment. From past tank bags, I've been used to keeping spare gloves in the side pockets. Not remotely possible with these pockets. You can fit only small things in there, and then, it's hard to make use of the length. And opening the zipper allows small things to fall out half the time.Some kind of strap(s) for carrying off the bike would have been appreciated. But then again, this is the budget option, so maybe it's just not possible at this price point.

This bag is great. Hold plenty of gear and mostly water proof.

This is a high value basic tank bag that mounts well on my big Adventure with a big tank. The steeply sloped bag mates well with the tank shape and is secured with a four point strap system. I have found that the four point system works better for me than relying upon expensive fuel filler clip systems. The materials are nice enough, good zippers and good pulls. The assembly quality is fine. No obvious flaws or missed seams. The attachment of straps to the bottom of bag is very stout. The design is OK. There is an expansion zipper & pleat that does not get in the way of using the bag in the small configuration. The styling is good with basic black and small yellow label, no excessive branding or flashy statement on what is a utilitarian item. The vinyl map pocket is accessible from inside the bag and has a spot for phone - not terribly useful since most phones will overheat in that location. There is a light nylon flap inside that bag that separates the map pocket from the rest of the bag, this is finished only so-so. I cut a piece of black textured ABS to put in that spot to add structure and make it look a bit more finished. I bought an Amazon Warehouse "used" item that was basically in perfect working order.

Bought this for my KLR650 and use it daily. The bag mounts easily to my crash bars and around the stem. Sits on the gas tank in the right position and doesn't affect the maneuverability of the handlebars. When expanded, it can get in the way a little in steep or exceptionally challenging terrain, but I quickly got used to it and just rode with it. On the trip in the picture, the bag was expanded to max capacity. I had snacks (beef jerky, dried grapes, several granola bars), a 20 oz water bottle (my 40oz insulated camelback will fit, but not recommended for long trip), glasses in a hard glass case, mileage notebook, rhino tire gauge, small first aid kit, about 25 feet of paracord, cold steel knife (in side pocket), insurance info, pen, small battery pack for my phone, my cell phone, maps, and small flashlight. This particular ride started out with 60-75 miles of constant rain. The rain cover fits very well, and it was easy to see my phone in the top pouch. There was one instance where, in very steep, rocky and challenging technical terrain, the rain fly came off without me noticing and it was run over by another rider. On our way back down I found it and while the clear cover was a little scuffed, it was otherwise undamaged.I ride daily and the pack is awesome for carrying my lunch. It zips down to very compact but quickly expands if needed. One note I will make is to ensure that the rain fly is down over the edges all the way when riding at higher speeds as it will fill up with air and come loose. It does have elastic bands that can go over the mounting straps, but I didn't use them. I pulled it all the way over the bag and cinched the drawstring and it solved the issue.I HIGHLY recommend this bag and am looking at getting another Nelson-Rigg in a smaller size for my wife's XT250.

I received my bag and after installation, I realized one of the labels on the side was upside down. A quick email to verify it was meant to be this way (it was not) and with in 10 mins I had a response telling me to send them my shipping information and they would be sending me a new bag, free of charge.The quality of this thing is great! Durable material, zipper is smooth, and I love the stretch bands that come on it to secure the slack after adjustment. Easy installation, takes 2 minutes. You will not be disappointed!

So many good things to say about this bag, so little time...This bag and I bonded. It became my saviour on a two month, 11k mile cross country trip. Every time I thought it couldn't hold more, it would. Every time I thought the bag was done for when in harsh weather, it held up. It went on and off my motorcycle ever day at the start and end, plus untold amount of gas fill ups, and the buckles refuse to fail. Every item that I needed quick access to, it held. I'm sure it sounds like I'm gushing, but this bag was a freaking life saver so many times on the trip that I can go on for a while.For specs, it's worth noting that I just left it extended for extra capacity, even if I didn't have much in it. I wear a baseball cap when I take my helmet off and it was just easier to fit the hat in that way. Also, the rain cover is only as good as the operator. The first storm I hit with the bag I struggled to find a place to pull off to put the cover on, so by the time I got to it the bag was wet. Not soaked, but the side pockets and the bottom were damp. It dried overnight in the hotel and I got better about predicting the storms after that.The bag is universal, however note that if your gas cap is located where mine is (under where the bag sits) you'll be unclipping the bag every fill up. I just unclipped the top buckles and moved the bag to the side enough to fill up while the lower buckles were still attached. It wasn't a hassle at all. Heck, I never even fully got off my motorcycle when I would fill up.Overall, absolutely worth the price for the functions of the bag. And it looks cool too! I had a BMW adventure rider comment that my tank bag looked so much better and functional than the one he had come with his motorcycle. Sometimes aftermarket accessories are just better.
