House of Chess presents handmade wooden magnetic folding travel chess set. The inlaid chess board has been made by special inlaying process. This set is small enough to place on a table to one side, with the book on the other side. It is attractive enough to leave set up on display. It has the ranks and files labeled. If I had one recommendation, it would be to use a better contrasting color for the numbers and letters. The set, as mentioned, has two extra queens and two extra pawns for each side. There is also a soft green bag to place the pieces in. The quality of this set is meticulous, and includes tiny, felted brass feet to screw into the bottom inserts so the wood case does not touch the table. There are plenty of cheaper small chess sets available, but I found this set to be worth the money I spent on it.

This is a well-made product. The size is perfect for my use on my dinner table to minimize space use and clutter. The pieces and the board are finely crafted and a pleasure to use and look at. The four small screw-on elevator legs for the board are a nice bonus that prevents the felt storage compartment and the extra pieces from having contact with the tabletop. The only quibble is that the white king has a weaker magnet than the rest and tends to slide when the board is tipped beyond about 60 degrees. I'm wondering how the magnet can be strengthened somehow. I look forward to a lifetime of good use for this chess set.
