Though we already have a massage chair at home, I wanted to purchase a more special one for his neck as he had recently complained more about his neck pain. I don’t really like the idea of letting him try pain relievers for the side effects and the result may be just temporaryLong story short, he started using this device and it was literally just a couple of days until he felt a relief! He’s now even afraid to stop using it though his neck pain doesn’t come really often, and the stretching sessions will probably become an integral part of his daily routine. I don't think that my stepdad is doing anything special, just following the instructions included in the package, it literally takes 5-10 minutes, 2-3 times a day. This device is so simple but actually so effective, I’m really impressed!Concerning the product, I like the feeling of the fabric used, it’s like plush (just as it looks like in the pictures). You can easily adjust the pillow in all directions (using the straps or inflating more air), so it should fit any type of neck, small or big. I've got one for myself as well, I don’t have severe neck pain, but when I tried the pillow that I got for my dad after a hard day at work, it definitely helped me to relax, and my neck felt just great after a short stretching session. The new one has zero leaks or fabric tears and has helped me tremendously. I am bumping my review from 2 to 4 stars.I've been dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck for well over a month, went to the doctor and was told to go to physical therapy. While there the therapist put me on traction therapy and recommended that I use some form of it at home. He said go on amazon, there are two main inexpensive options. One with a water bag and a pulley, don't get that one he said. The other looks like an accordion that pumps up, that'd be the one to try. So per his recommendation I ordered this product.Ordered it quite a few days ago but unfortunately due some shipping issues and then the recent weather it got quite delayed getting to my house. Not holding that against the seller at all but it made getting a defective product that much worse. Upon opening it I was very pleased with how soft the material was and made sure it would fit my neck. No problem there, very good fit. I pumped it up with it on and waited until I felt a familiar light pressure just like the traction machine at the therapist. I then released some of the air by loosening the valve near the pump to make sure it worked no problem. Tightened it back down and pumped it back up some more. I wore it for about 10 minutes and noticed that there was less pressure, I pumped it up a bit more and about 5 minutes later same results. Maybe it was just expanding being new, material stretching due to the heat of my neck, who knows. I am absolutely positive that the valve was nice and closed. Fairly sure it's got a slow leak somewhere.Unfortunately I really need this device and will have to try and use it in the shape it's in. Just keep pumping it up and going 5-10 minutes at a time. On a positive note, it works well in regards to relief. I'm going to keep my eyes open for a replacement maybe in a local store just in case this is a common issue so it'll be easier to get a return/replacement. At the price of this unit it just isn't worth the hassle shipping it back to amazon. Lesson learned.
