Littlefair's Wood Stain Water-Based - (Antique Stripped Pine) – Non-Toxic, Eco-Friendly & Quick Drying - Easy-to-Apply, Concentrated Formula for All Wood Types – 15ml Tester Pot

We ordered the antique pine stain for our freshly sanded floorboards. I have tried to show you the different colours of before staining, painting the stain on, once it’s dried, then painting on varnish and finally the finished floor as we couldn’t find any large projects showing this particular colour. I found the stain very easy to apply with a paint brush, I didn’t think I would have enough at one point but was proven wrong as a little goes a long way. It dried quite even and gave a nice warm aged look to our floorboards which looked far too new for an old house. I have just applied the last layer of varnish (not Littlefairs) and I’m really pleased with the look.

I bought this to cover a slight scrape on a tv unit that had taken the wood colour off but not caused a scratch. I did as instructed and the first coat barely covered it, however a couple more coats and it’s covered perfectly. Would buy again.

This was puchased to stain a new cap to go on a newel post, when new cap turned up nowhere near the colour advertised online. Antique pine seemed to be closest shade to what was needed to coordinate with other elements in the surrounding area. First time we have used this or any wood stain. Our first impressions was it arrived intact, plastic bottle and in a plastic bag with no leakage. Instructions very small so either need a magnifier or photo and enlarge the writing as micro dot! We thought the wood stain would be thicker than what it was, it is water-based and the product is of a water-consistency so would described as a dye. Having prepped the wood as per instructions we chose a brush to put on the stain. However, the stain was so runny and because of the shape of the cap, the stain from the brush was running down the edges in dark dribbles and onto the newspaper. Thought that using a cloth would work better and less messy. Coverage was good by cloth for this small item. Finish of item meant that 2 of the 4 sides absorbed the stain differently and unevenly, not the problem of the stain product itself but the wood. Left to dry and 2 sides of cap patchy so re-did them and felt best to give all other areas a light second coat. Resulted in a lovely golden antique look. 2 sides are still darker than rest due to quality/cut of wood, but will be less noticeable when a light coating of varnish is added for that final protection. Can't fault the product, will be happy with the end result with a coat of varnish. However, with hindsight, it may have been easier to do the colouring with an all-in-one wood colouring-come-varnish than a separate stain. For large areas of wood to permanently change colouring this product will be perfect. For small jobs this bottle will last for a very long time a a little goes a long way. If using a cloth do wear gloves as though waterbased it does still take a little while to remove the tinge of the stain from fingers!

I think this is the best wood stain I’ve ever used, and I used a lot! It’s super forgiving, like other reviews said… other stains they barely give you w chance to distribute the product over a whole surface evenly, which for larger pieces is always a problem to blend the sections, but not this one . The Antique pine which I put on pine planks sitting on top of my kitchen banquette benches was almost a perfect match to the tone of the oak table , chairs and island worktop. Absolutely chuffed , as I just couldn’t find anything that would match and I also only did one layer - it’s super efficient too! Well done ! A great product

Easy to apply. No smell! Used on 3 "tired " pieces of furniture and made them look almost new. Exactly what I was looking for!!

Easy to use and clean because it's water based, but a little thin. Would buy again.

Transformed my (horrible) new pine doors that had to replace original doors due to loft conversion building regs. I am now happier with the new doors than the original ones, thanks to this product. It also goes a long way. 2.5L was sufficient for one coat (which was enough) on 9 doors. It only took the decorator an afternoon to stain the doors. You need a soft brush as the stain is the consistency of water. Excellent product and Littlefair were really helpful when I phoned for advice. They also sent me 2 tester pots for the price of one so I could choose between antique pine, which I ended up with, and dark pine. I'm very happy!

Nice colour, I done two coats to get the darker shade. Make sure you prep well first, it will find any existing varnish or un-sanded areas if you don’t prep properly.

Lässt sich ganz einfach auftragen . Es trocknet schnell Habe auf Kiefer benutzt . Tolle Farbe und Maserung . Werde ich andere Farbe auch bestellen

Me soprendió la calidad del tinte. Es muy liquido y eso ayuda a una buena aplicación. Personalmente recomiendo no cargar mucho el pincel para poder controlar mejor el tono. Ayuda además que seca muy rápido entre mano y mano y, si bien dependerá de la madera de base, el color coincide con la etiqueta. Mejor revisar el precio del envase de 1L ya que cuando yo lo compré (compré 2) era un precio muy bueno comparado con el de 1/2 L. Finalmente compré otros tonos debido al excelente resultado.

Nice odorless non-toxic stain. The coverage was good, but don’t forget to wipe it down soon after you apply or it will leave darker areas.

Is easy to use and clean up. Dries quickly.
