Great product I don't know how the do it.
I had to drill a couple new holes but no big deal you can't even see the old ones. The tail piece is absolutely an excellent product and priced way below other competitors. The finish is beautiful and it has made a difference in the sustain on my mando. If you're looking for a cast tail piece I highly recommend this one. Stringing my mando is much easier now as well.

I gave this 5 stars even though I returned it. The casting and quality were excellent. I returned it because the angle was too high for my application of a converted guitar. It held the strings to high above.

This is a high quality tailpiece at a very attractive price. The problem, however, is the tailpiece appears to be designed for an arch top mandolin and not a flat top mandolin. The angle of two facets of the casted piece are at considerably greater than 90 degrees. The description does not make this clear. Also, the screw hole pattern will likely not match your existing instrument thus requiring new holes to be drilled. If you plan on using this on a flat top mandolin, check your existing tail piece and you'll see that a replacement requires a 90 degree angle.

For the price? Oh yeah!
I build mandolins and when I saw this I had to try one, so far I see no quality difference between this and much more expensive ones. It ships directly from China so it takes a little while to come.

Great quality. Not a bolt on item.
Tailpiece came in good condition and well plated. It was not an easy installation. It has to be bent quite a bit to get the angle correct. I had to heat it with a torch to get it to fit right. The hardware it came with is very cheap and should not be used. As I was fitting it the last screw broke at the head and needed to be drilled out and doweled to fix. If you have the skills tho for the price I am happy with it.

Won't fit Kentucky mandolins without leaving a mess
Haven't been able to use it as the holes don't match up on any of my Kentucky mandolins and drilling and fitting would leave unused holes on show. Shame, as it seems solid and well made.
