Okay I seldom leave reviews on Amazon but I just had to for these. They're amazing!! I'd add pics but they immediately went in a bucket for aquarium prep. Each shape is unique to the other. IE If you drew the best form fitting, basic boxes around them, they would all have a drastically different box. Each of them has a mix of straight and curves. None of them sit flat to the surface, each having an intricate network of caves. Despite this, the opposite sides are not linear either. They all have random (dulled) spikes, shelves, and places perfect to attach plants which is exactly what I wanted. ALL OF THIS... for ~£5.50 a piece!! Amazing value for money. I've paid more for packs that should be described as 6 sticks. I've paid £34 for a single piece (that I specifically selected the shape of the individual piece) and I'd rather have 2 packs of these! As well as scouring eBay for unique, pictured pieces which are far more expensive. The sizes were all pretty good? I haven't measured them but when I opened them it didn't register that any of them were small or inadequate. Naturally, the material is wood, you're buying wood. They are quite dirty but no more than any random untreated driftwood you would buy. I would also say that there has been some cuts made at odd places but the cuts are very polished and smooth which I appreciate for the sake of my fishes fins!

This wood looks very nice and on first inspection I was delighted with it. However be aware that it is untreated. This means that it will float and so is not initially suitable for aquariums. To make it float you need to soak the wood for at least a month until it sinks. Having done this I find that the wood does not release tannin slowly (as advertised) but is very highly laden Tannin is the coloured dye natural to the wood. In this case it turns the aquarium water purple quite quickly. This is not dangerous to fish but obviously is not attractive and after a while the fish cannot be seen. The solution is more soaking until the dye stops being released. To say that it is aquarium safe and has low release tannin is false advertising as once purchased it will be quite a long time before it can be used in an aquarium. I would send it back but as it’s been heavily soaked and has changed appearance to dark brown due to tannin release I’m not sure that is possible. My advice….don't buy it unless you plan to use it months ahead.

I am so happy with my order! The pieces are beautiful and varied. Perfect for my 20 gallon long. They were packaged carefully and wrapped in bubble wrap. I highly recommend.

The one piece is absolutely what I was expecting. Nice large piece. Beautiful grain/color. I love the shape and knottiness. The second piece was a little smaller than expected , but works well in my 20 gallon tank. I am waiting on some more plants to fill in the space. Overall I’m really happy with the pieces. I did boil the pieces first. I didn’t have a big enough pot for the large piece, so I used my roasting pan. I boiled it for 1 hour and flipped it, then another hour. I did this 3 times. The smaller piece was mostly under water each time, I did flip it as well to get the little edges. So it definitely got a good boil. Then I followed the directions on the little card that came with the wood and soaked them in a bucket of cold water, adding sea salt, for one hour. This did very little. I decided to soak it for 1 day or 24 hours. This pulled out more tannins. Then I changed the water and soaked for another 24 hours 2 more times. The smaller piece was ready after 48 hours of cold soak. It did not float. The bigger piece needed more time. After the 72 hours, I put it in place and anchored it with a netted bag of old substrate I was using to cycle the new tank. It took about another week for it to fully saturate and not float. A small amount of tannins were released into the tank water, so made the water a little dark, but not too bad. If I ever need more wood, I will order from them again.

Looks great, leeched a little. Made a nice scape. Great value. Good color.
