IT WORKS!
This was sooo worth the buy, Iโm so happy with this purchase! I set it up days before traveling like the instructions said and once I landed in the UK, the SIM card worked without any issues. All I needed to do was insert it in my phone- no other set-up necessary. I received a UK # and was able to make calls within the UK and had more than enough data for my two week vacation. There were minor moments of poor connectivity, but aside from that, it worked fine. I would definitely use again! Please note this SIM card will not allow calls or texts outside the stated regions.

Over priced nightmare
This is a reseller of SIMS. The factory packaging is clearly labelled 'not for resale'; so if anything goes wrong you are on your own. The 3 contract clearly states that the SIM is meant for use based in the UK. So buying this card to travel around Europe is not a good idea. The seller claims that its easy to top up the card, but this is not the case. The phone app for tracking usage worked OK but the account wouldn't let me top up because 3 didn't know who I was and wouldn't let me modify my account. I was eventually able to call 3 and top up (like all big companies 3 is not easy to communicate with) but then it turned out that I couldn't use the data I had purchased because I had hit the 12 GB monthly roaming limit (I was in France at the time). So two weeks into my trip I had to abandon the SIM and all the money I had put on it and get a new SIM. Buying a SIM card directly from the cell phone company that operates in your destination country ensures that you know the terms of the SIM card you have purchased and is also significantly cheaper. You have to do a bit of research and these companies sell directly to you (not on Amazon), but its a vastly better way to go.

Worked Perfectly!
I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing this sim card, and decided to give it a try. So basically, if you follow all the instructions written in the user manual that came with the sim card, it will work fine in Europe. Since I purchased the activation required sim card, as soon as I received my sim card, I immediately completed the activation application online via the link provided in the manual. We are advised to complete the activation process at least 2 days before the date of use. The info needed in the activation process was simple - Amazon order number, activation date, ICCID (SIM card barcode number that starts with 89) and email address, and that's it. You will receive an email after completion for confirmation. On the day of travel, I only inserted my sim card when I was in the air and my phone was on airplane mode. So when I landed, I was able to use it right away. There were some text messages that came in through the sim card number as soon as I turned on the line. It was saying "Your GBP10.00 Top-up's good to go - so your new balance is GBP0. It's a 35p per minute, 15p per text, and 10p per MB of data....". I basically just ignored the messages, as the sim card worked perfectly fine in the UK for my one week stay. I even made a few calls in between and the data connection was stable and good (remember to turn on the data roaming for this sim card). I did not have to go in to the APN settings. But when I went to France, I had to go in to the cellular settings to adjust the network selection on my phone. It was default to be automatic on my phone, but if I turned that off, I can select different telecom lines that provide stronger network connection. Once I selected the telecom network of my choice, it worked perfectly fine in France, no other steps required. I would purchase this sim card again for my next Europe trip.

Great!
I used this in card in Iceland and the Germanic countries in Europe. Both times, I registered the cards before leaving, inserted the card, and it worked perfectly! The 12 gigs was more than enough for 7 days in Europe, and the 6 gig card was plenty for 4 days in Iceland. I used it for everything including navigation and making calls/texts via apps since you can only make calls/ texts from the UK with the card. The only issue I had was the card did not work in Liechtenstein.

Good value, worked well in Europe!
These cards worked well for us during a trip to Europe last fall. Much less expensive than getting our carrier's plan. Would use again.

Card not usable but customer service eventually responded
I'm amending my earlier review based on a recent interaction with customer svc. The product description says that it provides unlimited local calling while in country, which is the only thing I needed it for. When I got to Europe and turned it on I was met with a request to purchase talk time; it listed -0- for talk and text. I needed to go to a Vodafone store and purchase a SIM card in order to be able to make a call. After initially posting this review customer svc offered a refund but I had to text them in order to use it. They seemed to not understand that their card didn't work and now that I was back in the U.S. I didn't have international calling. They recently contacted me again and this time did a refund through Amazon. While that is certainly nice I can't give this a 4 or 5 star because the product didn't work, I couldn't get in touch with customer service because I didn't have an operational phone in country, and had to go elsewhere for a SIM card. It is nice to see that customer service reached out again (although they clearly wanted me to change this review). They still need some work in this area; one representative suggested that the card didn't work because I didn't follow the directions properly. Note that the SIM card from Vodafone worked just fine. I increased my score, though, because they seem to be working on improving their service and hopefully the product.

Order well in advance; follow directions
Reading all the reviews, I was a bit leery about getting this, but we had no problem using this sim card. It was a matter of following the directions that came with it. The activation number is TINY & of course you have to get it exactly right, but you just need to read carefully & double check. Coverage was fine in London & Paris. It did not seem to work in the French countryside while we were on the train, but that was not really an issue. We simply waited until we got to Paris to look things up. Sometimes it would say 'no service' but then it would refresh itself a moment later and work again. We used it primarily for mapping, looking up things, and a few texts. Barely used up any data over 11 days (less than 1GB, I think) It also comes with a storage pouch for your other sim card, as well as the little tool to eject the card. Very useful. My biggest issue was the delivery: it arrived very late, just 2 days before we left on our trip (about a week later than originally promised), so I very nearly cancelled the order because you are supposed to register 2 days before you want it to start working. Main takeaway: Order well in advance of your trip & follow the directions.

Buyer beware that could be no resolve if the Sim does not work.
I purchased two of these for a trip to London, one for my daughter and one for myself. We understood that the phones needed to be unlocked, which they were. We also followed the detailed instructions. One of the two purchased worked fine the other did not. While in London, we contacted them via the chat What'sUp app. We did as they advised when it made sense. But nothing worked. The final advice made no sense as the settings they wanted us to check were not on her phone. There was no way to actually talk to a human being and thus it never was made right. We just gave up and used my phone to navigate in London. Now that we are home I discovered there is no way to refund the item. They can see that sim card was never used. I believe they should refund the money. So my advice to others is don't purchase this item from them. There is no help if the item is defective and there are no refunds. Very sad.
