They look nice, but I have not actually used them yet. I am moving this month, so I will use them soon. They did move slightly after going through the car wash a few times, I don’t think that should have happened, so I will have to retighten them. But, overall, they are very sturdy and I have not heard any noise from them. They were a lot cheaper than the one’s from Hyundai! ### ⭐ Detached from roof and destroyed 3 pairs of skis *by J***T on December 28, 2023* This is just my experience with the rack. I have no way of knowing if this is a common problem or just my unit was defective.Used this rack for a few weeks, and it felt solid. Drove around with it on the roof for those first few weeks. To their credit there was no noticable wind noise and the rack felt solid.On our first road trip, we loaded the roof up with a Yakima ski rack and skis. Surely a single ski rack is within the load tolerance of this roof rack. It worked fine for a few hours of driving, but while we were on the freeway the entire roof rack ripped off the roof. Nothing was left on the roof. 3 pairs of skis, the ski rack, and the roof rack were completely destroyed. Luckily no other cars were hit by the debris, and the skis we were transporting were relatively old.We were only able to recover some of the debris, but we did find two of the roof rack clamps, some of the skis, and parts of the ski rack. The fact that the entire roof rack was gone from my roof tells me it was the roof rack that failed. Likely it failed where it clamps onto the roof. The rack was not loose. I tightened it to the roof firmly because I wanted to make sure I had no problems and I wanted to use the roof rack for years.After this happened, I contacted the seller asking for a refund plus to cover the cost of the skis and ski rack, which I estimated to be $400 on top of the item refund. They got back to me quickly and immediately refunded the purchase plus $20 for the inconvenience. They offered to send me a new roof rack for free to make it right, but I denied because I don't want this to happen again.The seller refused to cover the cost of the skis or ski rack, so I have to pay to replace those myself. I think I will wait and buy an expensive, reputable roof rack next time so this never happens again. I have heard some stories of individual skis or bikes falling off cars, but have never heard of an entire roof rack detatching from a roof.
