Quality matters
Great bounce - makes a big difference in the game. You could tell that it is good quality because the material feels strong.

Good balls and a fair price
Used the balls for about a year. They did not crack but two of them did go out of round. Still a good deal for the price.

Great Balls
Selkirk balls have always had long lasting durability. The primary use for this last purchase is for skills training. Purchased a resale package and all the ball looked like they had never been used.

Is this really durable compared to other products? what is the difference?
EDIT: After my review, I had a 4 time email conversation with Selkirk support and I am totally satisfied with their explanation and effort to understand and resolve the issue. If balls are made from harder materials, it will crack easily, If it is made from soft materials, its shape will deform. Keep the deformed ball ( don't throw away and they will come back to normal shape again). Trust me, I did not edit my review to get some freebee's from them. This is purely on helping other customer like me. I hope you understand my point here. ------------------- It is too early too talk about durability of this product. I have seen some customer reviews and they talk about 1 year warranty is misleading. The warranty is not good if only one ball is cracked in 2 weeks or some time. They ( vendors) are asking for 12 balls damage, if 3 or 5 out of 12 is damaged, they wont help you. So figure it out yourself. Correct me, please if I am wrong. Now, I played with some balls. Here is what I experienced. Some of the balls lost its shape. ( more compared to x -40 balls. Due to lost shape, there is significant wobble with such balls and you decide to toss the ball in garbage can. Everyone on the courts decision is same. Now due to the smaller holes on the ball ( comparing to x40 again), windy and beautiful sunny weather, it swings ( curves) so much that even experienced players find it difficult to handle the curves. Now that is what I think that, this curve is because of that smaller holes placed between normal holes. I may be wrong. some times inconsistent bounce is also observed, so you must watch the ball and be ready to handle the low bounce situations. ONE more thing, weather is not in 45f or lower, since we are in March now. So can not say more about balls are cracking in lower 40s temperatures. That is my major complaint about x40 balls. So can't say anything about it until may be next year? I guess by next year we will have some improvements and new additions to the competition. If you like franklin x40. just stay with it. That is my last word till I find out more from my experience.

Great pickleball balls
We've been using the Selkirk Pro S1 balls for a few weeks now on our outdoor courts, and I can honestly say that they are the best balls we have used so far in the 3 years of playing pickleball. We started off using the gamma outdoor ball, which was pretty soft and they didn't last long. Probably better for indoor use. Then we progressed to the Franklin x40 which were better, however they are prone to crack quickly after only 3-4 hours of play, especially in cold conditions. Again these are probably better indoors. After that we tried the ProKennex balls, and the which lasted longer, but felt 'heavy' on paddle and didn't bounce up as high. These also don't 'hang' in the air as long as the others, so suit a lobbing game. Dinking is consistent, but again they feel heavy on the paddel. The Selkirk is just as good as the ProKennex, however they bounce constantly better, glide through the air better, and take spin well. Dinking is challenging, as they can pop up because of the extra bounce, but they will help tighten up you game. Over all, the best balls yet. Also, so far no breaks, however the balls do look battered for constant play! If you're ordering for a club, order 100 balls, and they will probably last for a couple of years.
