A LOT OF LIGHT
I did a lot of research and comparison before purchasing the Magicshine ALLTY 1500S 2500S. I ride a paved trail early in the AM and decided it was time for a light. This gets great reviews. It was easy to setup and I chose not to use the remote, simply a personal preference. The light is ample @ 500 Lumens, excellent @ 1,000 Lumens and simply blinding @ 1,500 Lumens. I left on a ride this morning with 99% charge. Ran it for 1 hour @ 1,000 and then an hour on a blink setting. Returned with 62% charge. Easy to mount on your handlebars and doesn't use much space. This is on the expensive side, but worth it if you need a great light. I would be careful of the aim if you are riding with the 1,000 or 1,500 setting as it could be blinding to oncoming bike or car traffic. Update 8/10/24 โ Used it for the second time this AM. Left with 100% charge. Rode for 2 hours and 34 minutes. The first 1 hour 20 minutes using 1,000 steady headlight, remaining 1 hour and 14 minutes on blink setting. Returned with 48% charge still available. Love this puppy!

Failed abruptly after a few uses
Avoid this product. It was great while it lasted, which was about 3-4 uses. Do a little research and you will find others with a story similar to mine. I purchased it at the end of October 2024, and used it a few times before it abruptly bricked. The last time it was working, I had charged it fully prior to ride. It was on for only 30-45 minutes on that ride as darkness fell before I finished. When I got home the readout on screen clearly showed 70-75% (I use the light only for safety on the lowest setting, as I ride in an urban environment). The very next ride I didn't even check the charge because I knew it should have plenty of power left. Again, darkness fell while I was about 10 miles from home so I reached down to turn on the headlight only to find no response. It was acting as if power was completely drained, as in the screen was just blank, no status. Got home and immediately plugged it in. Couple hours later I checked on it. No response, screen totally blank. It normally will show charge status as it charges. I gave it several more hours, plenty of time based on previous experience charging it. Still nothing. Left it plugged in overnight, still nothing next morning. I contacted Magicshine customer support to inquire about warranty and included a similar description to this one. They asked for videos, so I sent them several. But honestly, what do you show in a video other than repeatedly pressing the button with no response? You can't make a video showing charging. I don't know what they expected, but apparently my attempt was not good enough. It isn't worth it to me to continue beating my head against this wall, and frankly, I have no confidence a new unit would do any better. My use case is about as light as could be expected and I used it normally as far as I know. FWIW, I did read similar reports before I purchased the headlight, but I didn't believe them. My bad. Maybe someone else will learn from my mistake. Will toss it in the garbage and look for another option.

Great bike light
Really bright light for night time commuting. Impressive battery life even in extremely cold weather

Bad battery management
Very bad battery life, the light is great and build quality good, but the battery life is bad. I found the solution, because it has a removable battery if you take the battery off when itโs not used it will keep the charge. But if you keep it connected it will day after a day or so even when not used.

Lost before sunset
4/15.2024 - Appreciate the customer service reaching out about the review below. I'm trying the light again and will update. Hopefully the garmin style mount hangs in better this time. /// Lost light on 4th ride when the mount broke. Pros: Nice build, like idea of swapping battery, percentage display. Remote. Battery life. So so... Light trow is long, spread and color. It was an improvement over a much lower cost Alty 600 (but, not by much). Battery life is better with more light. Cons: The always on flood light (daylight) seems a waste as it's using energy and not providing much trail/road illumination. Spot focused, tunnel effect. Mount - didn't hang on some rough bumps. Broke off just before sunset and left me without a light. Bottom line: I would try again if given the opportunity...

Good light, customer support is slow
After customer support finally resolved my issue, I'm updating my review. The light has really nice features, especially the LCD display showing remaining battery, and some quirks, which I'll later describe how to fix. Ultimately, it's the light I've always wanted someone to make. The Garmin-style mount is also fantastic and light weight. It also holds the light very securely and has a number of different sizes of straps. One person here commented that the light is heavy, but it's not at all. Nearly all the weight is in the battery, and it's sizeable, which is a good thing. Still, it comes in 70g lighter than my Moon commuting light and about the same as my similar Cygolight. I really like the beam pattern, bright in the front with just the right amount on the sides. I was afraid that with only one light, it would not have good sideways spread, but it does. Now the quirks. Bluetooth didn't work. so I sent the light back. The replacement had the same issue, so I contacted support and received a response that they'd get back to me. A few weeks later, they did, after apologizing for a delay due to the 4th of July (which apparently fell in October this year). The fix is to pull out the battery and put it back in. Initially that didn't work, but I did it when the app was searching for the light, and it worked. Inside the app, hit the add button, and you can create some really nice power modes. Another quirk is the remote pairing instructions didn't work. I suspected the battery was covered, as is common in a new product. I opened the remote, and that was it. I removed the plastic separator, and it paired. For the most part, the remote probably isn't useful, but for the ability to toggle the power up to maximum. If you hit a spot where you need a lot of light, you can punch it up to high and back down with a click. A scary quirk was when I was riding on a trail in the middle of nowhere, and the light completely shut off for a couple seconds, and then resumed working. That has only happened once in the 6+ hours I've used it, and it did come back on fast. Still, it's terrifying to be flying along in utter darkness. I suspect it's a software glitch as the battery fits very snugly. The unit is solidly built. I dropped it on concrete a day ago, and it didn't leave a mark on it. Even with the light cutout, I'd buy it again. I have had this happen on other lights, and it was worse. It has so many features, all of them useful.

Not worth it
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This light was highly rated on review sites so I purchased it. Very bright as described. Impossible to decipher the controls. Continually slipped on my handlebars rotating to point either straight up or straight down. I thought I could work with this by remounting, but then it just died after about 8 months of intermittent, sparse use. Total waste of of money.
