For the money,I think they make a good treat, stocking filler or small present for any child that even has a passing interest in the world of fossils (or other kits like gemstones etc.). We actually bought another, larger kit at another time after this one to excavate and add to the collection, went down just as well as this kit. Each fossil is different and has been fossilised in different ways. Again, great for education. The set comes with a booklet of each fossil too - so children can read up on facts and quiz themselves.
