Updated 2023: FIVE STARS - buy it!
Updated 2023: I wanted to update my review, a year after purchase. Let me start with a few caveats: I'm not a professional chef, but I'm a darn good amateur. The entire past year I've been working on my knife skills, which means a LOT of chopping, so my cutting boards have been put through a lot of (ab)use. I'm not very disciplined about doing the required maintenance of wooden cutting boards (which takes days when done properly), but I've completed that cycle with this board about three times over the past year. Here's my advice: If you're on the fence about this board because of the price, just BUY IT. I cannot believe how well it has held up to my high usage over the past year. I prepare 90% of our meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) at home, so I use my cutting boards A LOT. I stick by my original advice to immediately "season" this board by washing, drying, oiling, and waxing (allow 24 hours between each step) because it has made a tremendous difference in the performance and longevity of this board. In fact, you may need to repeat the oiling step twice when you're first seasoning this - but it will be worth the wait. I rotate this board with a vaunted Boos Block (which has already started to split, but then again I live in a dry climate, and...see above regarding my laxity in seasoning the boards), and this walnut board has held up much better than the Boos Block. Yes, this walnut board shows a lot of knife marks. What would you expect with a cutting board? But it has not split or warped, and considering how much I use it I think it's in fantastic shape. The first pair of photos shows the board when new. The second pair of photos shows the board after 11 months of high usage, as I'm starting the seasoning process (which is why it looks dry). Like I said: Just buy it. You won't regret it. Heck, I think I'm going to buy another one! PS: I have not been compensated in any way for this review. I'm just an enthusiastic home chef who wants to share my experience with others. ORIGINAL REVIEW 2022: This cutting board set feels like a good value to me, regardless of whether or not it's real walnut. First, it comes beautifully packaged. Second, the size is perfect. I'm a home chef for two, and this size is ideal for me for mise en place, even when I'm prepping lots of stir fry vegetables and stuff. Of course, wood cutting boards require considerable upkeep to avoid warping and deep scratches. I found that this board required oiling immediately after the first wash - and it drank up a lot of mineral oil. I'd recommend you buy a gallon of oil at the same time as the board so you can maintain it from Day One. In fact, I'm thinking of getting a second one of these so I can easily rotate between them while one is going through the two-day oiling/waxing process. Overall, I'm super pleased with this cutting board. I feel it gives me an excellent cutting surface on a home cook's budget.

Great board
Very nice and large board. We've been using it for months and it is very durable and easy to keep clean. It is a big board, which makes it nice for large meals, It is about as heavy as you'd expect, and the teak is very resistant to damage.

Will break
Let me start by saying that I was very excited to make this purchase. However, it did not take long before I lost all interest in this product. I followed the instructions and within one month I noticed a crack within the board itself. It's just disappointing. This is not a cheap product either. Now it costs 60+ dollars. My advice - stay away from this product and the one who created this product. To company who makes this product my advice is to look at the product you make. If you want to charge a certain amount of money then by all means do so but also create a product worthy of the actual price. Right now - this product is not worth the money you are asking because it is of low quality. I hope everyone reads this review before making the unfortunate purchase!

Cool looking board
We purchased the product as a photo prop first and cutting board second. The salt & pepper grinders are fine, "okay" quality; nothing fancy. The board looks good, but is finished with more of a varnish than a traditional cutting board oil. After a couple washings, the "juice groove" around the parameter began to loose the varnish and the grain has started to draw (come up) significantly and it has become rough to the point that it is not easily wiped clean. The flip side of the board has 3 areas routed out for nuts or crackers. Both sides of the board had adhesive mounted rubber "feet" which was a little strange, but they came off easily. It is more of a serving board than a traditional cutting board. If a cutting board is what you're after...and I've been through a few...but my advice is "buy once, cry once" and just get a Boos.

Save your money and go to Walmart!!!
DO NOT BUY THESE BOARDS!!! It took over a month to ship, I was super excited because I thought they would be good quality. They’re laser cut and say on the little card they give you that they’re sanded. They are NOT sanded. Both of the boards are rough to the touch with pieces of jagged grain sticking out just enough to feel with your fingers and they will definitely end up in your food. Not worth the $50 bucks to just go back and sand them yourself if you really wanted to. You can get two walnut wood boards from Walmart for $16 cheaper with wayyyy better quality. Save your money, go to Walmart!

Great Quality Cutting Boards for Every Kitchen and Every Day Use!
I’m really impressed with this SMIRLY 4-pack walnut cutting board set! The quality of the wood is excellent—sturdy, smooth, and looks great on the counter. Each board is a different size, so there’s a perfect one for every task, whether I'm prepping a small snack or a full dinner. I use wood cutting boards in my kitchen, so going for wood over plastic is my choice for both durability and aesthetics. SMIRLY walnut wood cutting boards tend to be gentler on my knives, and easy to maintain. These cutting boards are ideal for both small and large kitchens—compact enough to store easily, but big enough to handle large family dinners when needed. I use them for everything from chopping veggies to carving meats. Another bonus: Smirly’s customer service is excellent. They were responsive and helpful when I had a quick question. You can tell they really care about their customers. Overall, if you're looking for great cutting boards that combine function, quality, and aesthetics, this set is a Super Good Choice.

Beautiful but requires maintenance...
It's nice, but it requires a bit of maintenance after each use. Good size and lots of nice details.

Great value on a larch wood board
This board is substantially cheaper than the other larch wood boards available. It was a little rough in the groove on the serving side, but a few minutes with some sandpaper solved that. I bought this to protect some rather expensive Japanese blue steel knives and it has performed as expected.

Terrible quality, haven’t even used yet
I bought these a month ago. I was waiting on oil and wax to seal them before I used them. The number of splinters and now the board is lifting, is unreal. I thought maybe with the first coat there might be a couple. But now the second and third coat, the splinters are stopping. Do not recommend

Avoid. Splitting and warping.
Avoid at all costs. Total waste of $. Bought the 3 pack and already warped/split in 2 spots under a year of purchase. My dollarama bamboo cutting boards have lasted me years longer than these garbage Smirly boards which have nog even lasted a few months . Do not be fooled by the positive reviews.save your $ and just buy a board from ikea
