Samsung DeX Station for Galaxy S9/S9+ - Black, EE-M5100TBEGWW

Nice! I've received my order in 24 hours even if it was a standard delivery, good job guys! The dex pad comes with all the cables you need to use it (usb type C, HDMI cable and a fast charger). I was expecting a better made, with solid plastic, it's very light... On the front there is a fan for the temperature. A good point is the way to connect the smartphone to the pad, there is a USB type c with a moving base so it comes very hard to break it and it leaves free to use the 3,5mm jack of the smartphone and the space to extract the s-pen if used with a galaxy note 8 or 9. I've preferred the dex pad instead the latest dex cable because there are 2 usb 2.0 ports full size(why not a 3.0?), the hdmi port and the usb C port for the charge, and I've preferred this pad instead the first dex station because it gives the opportunity to use easily the smartphone like a trackpad or a keyboard. Once I've connected everything (with monitor, mouse and keybord) the dex UI was running automatically. It's very pleasant to use it like a real pc, all the apps runs in windows, and there is the opportunity to reduce it in icon, resize or, if the app is supported, in full screen. There are still too many limits to replace a real laptop or pc with a smartphone, even with the dex pad, but it's great to enjoy a movie, play music, watch your pictures, or work with office apps, I don't know about games( I didn't try yet) it's very helpful to manage files and folders. I've paid this dex pad £45, I can suggest it for this price, it's a nice,helpful and funny gadget. Forgive me if there are some errors but english isn't my mother tongue ;)

The Samsung DeX pad allows your galaxy s8/s8+/s9/s9+ to display a desktop-like experience to a separate monitor while still being able to use the phone's screen separately. It has a USB Type-C plug on it and comes with a USB wall outlet and USB to USB-C cable. This is used to power the DeX pad and phone. The pad also has two regular USB (Type-A) ports that allow you to plug in a keyboard and mouse which will work as input devices, just like a desktop PC. If you do not have a keyboard or a mouse, you can still use the pad as the phone will recognise when you need a keyboard and show an on-screen one automatically and on demand, along with the ability to use you phone as a track-pad (like a laptop). NOTE: I tried to use an RGB Razer keyboard and RGB Razer Mouse with the DeX pad but they didn't work, I assume due to power delivery not being sufficient for all the lights (which I cannot figure out how to turn off as Razer Synapse is (understandably) unavailable on Android). The pad also has one HDMI-Out port. This is used to connect the pad to the monitor you are planning on using it with. A HDMI to HDMI cable is supplied in the box. On the top of the pad there is a USB-C plug which sits parallel to the pad surface, allowing you to slide it into position. This plug is also hinged slightly so you can use the fingerprint reader on the back of the phone without disconnecting it from the DeX pad - a well-thought and nice touch. In addition, the pad has a fan built into it which circulates air past the bottom of the phone (about half way from the bottom of the phone onwards as this is where the processing units are inside the phone itself) which does a good job at regulating the phone's temperature and adjusts speed accordingly. An issue I experienced, again with input devices, is that it doesn't seem to like any new-ish Apple keyboards. It refuses to work properly. The actual DeX experience is good. It works seamlessly with most apps and I haven't managed to crash it yet. Some apps will be slightly confused by DeX mode, like Snapchat, which has sometimes behaved oddly when navigating pages. Other apps will simply refuse to open, with a notification popping-up letting you know that "This app was designed for touchscreens only". As for audio, the phone will be the output of sound if no alternative is available (I have not tried with audio being sent via the HDMI to built-in speakers so cannot advise if it will work). The AUX is still easily accessible when pugged into the DeX pad. The phone will also be able to send audio to a pair of wireless earphones (like the Galaxy Buds) as expected. You get the option to either mirror your phone screen to the monitor you have connected, use the monitor as a separate screen or stop using the monitor completely to instead fast-charge the phone you have connected. The more options the better! Along with this, you can either use the phone screen separately to the monitor, which allows you to be in one app on the phone (like gallery or the internet) and all the others on the monitor (like an editing app or notes). This is very useful as you can drag the mouse from the monitor screen and it will appear on your phone screen, allowing you to control your phone with a mouse (a very odd but awesome experience). You can turn this option off if you'd prefer the mouse to stay on your monitor screen and use your phone screen separately. It is great if you have an app on your phone that you want to use or have a phone that cost several times more than a desktop PC of equal power that you want to make the most of. It is good if you usually transfer files or images a lot as you can still access your phone's data (like images) in DeX mode which can save you the hassle of having to send images to yourself. Overall, a useful tool.

I don't know why not everyone has one of those. Makes the phones so much easier to use when you are at home and you will find that you do not turn on the computer as much any more. There are cheaper solutions in the market, but your phone will get super-hot when you use the DeX, so this one (which functions as a fan) is necessary if you don't want to risk your phone. It is overpriced, and the flat position is not awesome if you don't have a monitor and just want to use a keyboard and mouse on your phone, but the experience is so awesome, that I can't give this anything less than five stars.

The DEX Pad is excellent for connecting your compatible Samsung Galaxy phone to an external monitor, TV and Projector. I connected the Galaxy Note 8 running on Android 8.0 Oreo, and it worked beautifully both in Samsung DEX and Screen Mirroring modes. Inside the box is the DEX Pad, a 2 pin Fast Charger (just plug this into a shaver adapter, they cost a quid or two on the high street) which will fully charge your phone while using the DEX Pad in either modes without drain, USB 2 cable, HDMI cable, and a Quick Start Guide. The Galaxy Note 8 had a Samsung Clear View Standing Cover on it while connected to the DEX Pad without any compromises. At no point did the phone or DEX get hot. Now what I find limited is Samsung DEX, why Samsung can't come up with the technology to optimise all Android apps I don't know. However, in screen mirroring mode you can use apps like Amazon Prime Video which will rotate to full screen. I love this little gadget and the flawless Screen Mirroring for video. Samasung DEX mode is also flawless but less impressive as it's under developed as a technology. The Galaxy Note 8 became a mouse pad when in DEX mode, which takes a little time to master. I plugged a USB Bluetooth mouse adapter into one of the two USB 2.0 ports and used that when in Screen Mirroring mode. The Samsung DEX Pad and accessories came in a sturdy and attractive black box with it's own integrated carrying handle. You could pack the box into a medium to large backpack, messenger bag or suitcase but not in a small over the shoulder bag. Of course you could carry the DEX Pad and accessories without the box in a smaller bag easily.

As per another reviewer, this unit comes with a 2 pin adapter which is a pain because at £80 it should have come with a UK charger, which I now have to shell out for! Also the connector for the phone is supposed to be flexible to you to connect the phone without taking off the case. I have a VERY slim case and even with that on, it won't work. As soon as you take the case off and connect, the welcome screen appears for you to continue. Once its working, its very good. Obviously not all apps will work with a keyboard and mouse. Full list of support apps are on Samsung website. I tried Logmein to connect to my home server but the app is designed for a touch interface so keyboard and mouse doesn't work very well, in fact its bordering useless in this app. Work Microsoft office apps, its works well and for Email. Going to try Pubg later on, see if keyboard and mouse works ;) Also will try Splashtop form remote access. I suspect using Citrix reciever or VM Horizon will work well with this setup. At present I can't test as I'm rebuilding our Citrix environment at work.

Good item and does everything i expected. Some apps aren't able to be launched through dex desktop but most of them will. Only annoying thing is that it's sent out with an American style 2 pin plug but that is mentioned in the description.

Ok...so this looked good and it is what it said on the box but with one flaw. I had to keep my hand on the gadget and squeeze the phone onto the interface. As soon as i let go ..lost power lost connection

Incredible piece of device, so simple to use and light as feather. Can carry with you anywhere because of the size and weight. The fact that you just need a monitor and your phone is sickkkk! You can continue using the phone which is a big plus and charges it quick. It has it's limits in terms of how much you can do on it compared to a PC but for basic tasks such as internet research, emails, netflix pictures etc its more than enough (if only i had this years back during my studies, it would of saved the hassle of using public computers, and not worry about carrying expensive and heavy laptop with you all day). The only thing that bothers me the most as i use it most frequently is YouTube. Whether you use the app or browser neither are well coded. Its awkward to use it and in many cases and the app often crashes (certainly not the phone issue as its less than 6 months old..) other than that, i cannot wait to see what the future holds.. maybe connecting your phone via bluetooth will be just as enough?

Das Dex Dock macht aus dem Smartphone einen Computer. Oder so zumindest die Werbung. Jedenfalls ist es einzigartig und bislang exclusiv auf die Oberliga der Samsung smartphones beschränkt. Einrichten: Das ist wirklich sehr einfach. Kompatibles Samsung Smartphone einklinken und loslegen. Wenn das Smartphone Kompatibel ist wird sofort Ethernet Verbindung HDMI, und per USB angeschlossene Maus und Tastatur erkannt. Man kann also sofort loslegen Die Vorteile: Wenn man eh unterwegs auf dem Handy Arbeitet, Fotografiert oder Musik hört hat man mit dem DEX Dock all diese Dokumente Sofort zur Hand. Man muss nichts Umkopieren oder über die Cloud synchronisieren alles ist einfach da. Auch muss man sich keine Gedanken um Komponenten usw. machen – die Programme die auf DEX angepasst sind funktionieren einfach. Das führt auch dazu, dass man nicht immer ein Laptop dabeihaben muss – das Smartphone mit DEX tut es auch relativ oft… Die Programme: Wie schon oft geschrieben wurde steht und fällt das DEX System mit den Angepassten Programmen. Zuerst die Gute Nachricht: für den Office Warrior ist alles dabei. Am Wichtigsten sind Browser und eMail Programm – diese Funktionieren ohne große Einschränkungen (6GB RAM limitieren die Browser tabs auf ca. 20-30). Microsoft Office funktioniert auch wunderbar wenn man ein Office 365 Abonoment hat, ansonsten hat man die übliche Freeware Einschränkung, dass man keine neuen Dokumente erstellen kann usw. Videos und Musik laufen auch einwandfrei, sowohl fullscreen als auch nebenbei. Nur einige bekannte Apps wie NetFlix verweigern vehement sich der Anpassung. Leistung: Es sollte jedem klar sein, das selbst bei der neuesten Smartphone generation die verbauten Komponenten nicht mit denen eines einfachen Laptops mithalten können. Aber das müssen sie ja weitestgehend nicht. Für Browser, Filme, Musik und Office ist zumindest das von mir mit dem DEX dock getestete Note9 mehr als ausreichend. Fazit: Für 50€ bekommt man eine sinnvolle Erweiterung wenn man sein Smartphone als Office PC einsetzen will. Wenn man mehr machen möchte ist es aber immer noch kein vollwertiger Ersatz. Für mich ist aber die Integration gelungen daher 5 Sterne.

Lo ho acquistato prevalentemente per la curiosità di vedere se era comodo come letto in altre recensioni. E confermo che è veramente comodo, mi permette di avere accesso ad un computer ovunque e in qualsiasi occasione. Comodo anche il fatto che non si scaldi il telefono grazie alla dock. Non lo uso quotidianamente però lo uso spesso sia per lavoro che per uso personale. Veramente ottimo.

Lo compré del vendedor Weip, llego perfectamente precintado y completamente nuevo. El embalaje para el transporte muy bien. Funciona de 10 para el s9+ la única pega es que Netflix no te permite pantalla completa en el modo Dex, pero el mismo Dex Pad te da la opción de utilizar Screen Mirroring y hace que se vea exactamente como en tu telefo no así que se pone en pantalla completa. Lo compré para poder ver youtube y demás aplicaciones VOD en una tele que no tiene smart Tv y eso va de lujo además de ampliar la utilidad de todo tipo de aplicaciones de ofimática(Word, Excel...) Y otro de los motivos aún que estoy un poco decepcionado ya que en Internet si que he visto varía gente haciéndolo y es que como consola Al menos con mi s9+ mando de ps4 y ppsspp emulador no rinde muy bien cosa que con el teléfono sin conectar al Dex me funcionaba antes, por Internet he visto gente jugando con cable USB y el resto de emuladores van de lujo, pero la idea era convertir mi teléfono en una PSP de sobremesa y portátil. Estoy encantado y seguro que le sacaré más provecho. El vendedor insisto que de 10 en el embalaje como en el producto ya que era nuevo y me costó 15€ más económico que en la web oficial y que lo pedí el dia 10 por la tarde y hoy es día 12 de abril y al medio dia ya estaba en casa.

Ideal pour remplacer en partie un ordinateur de bureau. la seule chose dommageable est la manque d'application en plein écran Cette partie ne concerne pas directement le produit mais amazon J'ai commandé le 13 mars un article au prix de 102 euros je l'ai recu le 5 mai et payé ce prix. Hors depuis qqs jours ( moins d'une semaine apres la livraison ) vous vendez cet article 65 euros. Pourquoi ne pas rembourser la différence plutot que de jouer au jeu de la nouvelle commande et du retour de produit ? Vous allez payer la livraison et le retour d'un produit et vous allez quand meme rembourser mon premier achat, je trouve cela navrant. Cordialement M.F
