Was looking at different boards, and was a little hesitant to get a folding one, but saw this one on sale for $25 and change, saw that it has favorable reviews, and decided to take the plunge. So glad I did! Board has a nice finish, piece storage is nice with the foam cutouts, and the board lays flat when opened up. The pieces themselves are not heavy, but aren't what I would consider lightweight either, they're a good balance. The magnets hold them well to the board and the style and finish are nice also. Purchased this to teach my daughter how to play, and this really is ideal. Board is big enough to allow her to move the pieces without easily knocking into others, but the magnets hold well enough when she does. Price to value ratio is great in my opinion. I didn't have to spend a bunch to have a nice quality chess set that will hopefully give a great return on investment with the memories made! Definitely recommended.

This is a perfect chess set for young and old. I like that the pieces store easily in the case and it's magnetic. While the magnets aren't particularly strong they are adequate. All in all it works well and I'd recommend.
