I was introduced to this chess set from a buddy who brings it out and so many of us started playing on several different boards this board is high quality, great travel set. Real wood, very nice looking board and pieces with rounded corners and latches. The pieces are light wood, but the magnets make them fun to play with making them feel heavier. The first board I got had a mark on it so I requested a trade in and within 2 days got a new set. I contemplated just keeping them both. So, solid company and the board is legit. Great value for a pretty travel board.

Very pleased with this purchase. Was looking at different boards, and was a little hesitant to get a folding one, but saw this one on sale for $25 and change, saw that it has favorable reviews, and decided to take the plunge. So glad I did! Board has a nice finish, piece storage is nice with the foam cutouts, and the board lays flat when opened up. The pieces themselves are not heavy, but aren't what I would consider lightweight either, they're a good balance. The magnets hold them well to the board and the style and finish are nice also. Purchased this to teach my daughter how to play, and this really is ideal. Board is big enough to allow her to move the pieces without easily knocking into others, but the magnets hold well enough when she does. Price to value ratio is great in my opinion. I didn't have to spend a bunch to have a nice quality chess set that will hopefully give a great return on investment with the memories made! Definitely recommended.

This is a perfect chess set for young and old. I like that the pieces store easily in the case and it's magnetic. While the magnets aren't particularly strong they are adequate. All in all it works well and I'd recommend.

Well-made, pieces are fairly heavy, nice inlay work on the board - latches to keep it shut and foam with recesses for storing the pieces. Wood finish is great. Magnets in the pieces not quite as strong as advertised, I doubt that the pieces will stick when the board is upside down like the listing says, but better than nothing. I like how they included a pretty complete set of rules for chess, nice for new players. Overall a good value, in my opinion!

Bought as a gift for my Son and he loves it. Good quality and great case where each piece has a spot. Takes a few minutes to put away but you won’t ever loose a piece. Also comes with an extra queen for both colors

Good quality chess set for the price. Great board- magnetic pieces, each with its own spot so its easy to make sure all are away when finishing up. No pieces lost after several months kf regular use with kids.

I purchased this chess set as a gift and I was pretty disappointed. Firstly, the box came damaged, it's very soft cardboard which isn't great for a gift. Secondly, the inside part where the pieces go was not stuck on properly, so we had to use some hot glue to fix it. And thirdly, the wood on the outside was already chipped where it folds in half. I wasn't able to return as I needed it, but I had to explain to the receiver that it didn't come as expected. For the price, I would have expected a better product, I think after playing for a bit, it will be even worse. Maybe I just got a defected one as I had read the reviews, I was pretty disappointed.
