The master of mischievous rhyme, Jack Prelutsky, and his partner in crime, James Stevenson, have whipped up a storm of more than one hundred hilarious poems and zany drawings. Grab your umbrellaโand make sure it's a big one! It's raining pigs and noodles, it's pouring frogs and hats, chrysanthemums and poodles, bananas, brooms, and cats. Assorted prunes and parrots are dropping from the sky, here comes a bunch of carrots, some hippopotami.

Great introduction to the genre of poetry
I selected Jack Prelutsky for my 3 and 5 year old grandchildren. They are being introduced to his various poetry books and they find it very entertaining. The poems have predictable rhyming patterns. Even though the 5 year old can read on his own, he loves to hear these poems read aloud. His giggles are contagious. We pause at appropriate times to make predictions.I plan to give Prelutskyโs books as Christmas gifts this year.

Delightful!
Jack Prelutskyโs poetry is fun for children, but itโs even more fun for adults. The poems are great for reading aloud with kids or grandkids. Youโll find yourself laughing together and talking about each poem after you read it.

Great book for kids starting to learn about poetry.
My daughter is loving this book. She started learning about poetry in second grade through all of the home quarantine. She really had a hard time catching on to how poetry worked so I bought a few books. It's a little of a tougher read but she really enjoys it.

Great value for a used book compared to a new one.
the book was in good condition except it had some printing when you closed the pages. This was a gift for my sister and we just love Jack Prelutsky's poetry. She didn't mind the printing.

Very useful first book of poetry
This book has been my 4 year old son's silly introduction to poetry. We've had great fun with it. Prelutsky's vocabulary is wider than I usually see with children's literature- which has not been a problem in understanding the poems or the words in context. The poetic techniques are varied and serve as excellent introductory material. I can see why he was made Poet Laureate for children!

Filled with giggles!
This book is so engaging for 5-10 year olds. They giggle and laugh and read it out loud to any one who will listen. A lovely book with interesting twists and turns of poetry. This book will be a keeper for our grand daughters for years to come. Interesting for adults too! I plan to purchase more in the future as gifts for others!

Another Christmas Present
Bought this one for my grandson as well. So now he will have three Jack Prelutsky (hope I'm spelling that right....) books. It will be interesting to see which one he likes the best. Sure I will hear his laughter and that's the greatest gift of all!!!
