I’ve been using this DIYMAG 2 in (50 mm) magnet for several weeks, and overall it’s a solid heavy-duty retrieval tool. In many real scenarios, the effective holding weight is significantly lower — but still very strong for its class. Need to be aware that the surface an thickness of metal your sticking these onto has a big effect on their hold. Put it on a screwdriver or rounded side of propane tank and it holds alright but not near advertised strength. Tie rope to it and stick it on smooth side of a thick steel barge on the river and it’s a BIG BIG difference ! It will hold boat my 17 foot boat in current just fine.
