Fun and learning in a box!
I bought this game when I found myself stuck with new ideas for teaching my two kids italian .... I had plenty of books and used the internet a lot, but the idea of being pinned down to a chair to do their italian lesson .... did not appeal them very much! Then I saw this game and thought of giving it a try! It certainly worked, they just thought we were playing and did not see it as learning. There are lot of words to pick up, so beginners won't get bored at all. By following the colour and shape code it is easy to create a multitude of new phrases that keep the game fresh at all times. The kids were picking up words quite fast and so I had to buy deck 3-4 to increase their vocabulary. I'm waiting for deck 5-6 to come out!!!Because the game is just a pack of cards per deck .... you can take it with you everywhere you go .... perfect for long journeys on the plane or train.

A very small package but great product
I received the two Kloo games in perfect condition and very quickly. Entirely my fault, but I had expected something a little larger, like a board game. If I had read the description and dimensions better I would have expected the little packs of cards. The cards themselves are great and useful to help my nephew learn Italian. A lovely idea for all of the family. I may well buy the other packs when they have finished with these two.

Innovative and fun learning pack
I bought the first four decks of the Italian version of this game for a 6 year old first year learner of Italian. Although she has been learning for 3 terms she has done very little formal grammar learning but she is able to use these cards easily to make sentences of 5 or 6 words in length. You can follow the suggested game play or make you own rules. Althouh these cards are not pictorial, the recipient loves to play with them and she has spent many hours practicing amusing sentence construction then reading and translating the fruits of her labour. Each card has a colour coded clue to aid construction of sentence if you run into difficulty. For such a simple premise, these games allow a huge amount of learning in a wonderfully fun way. I cannot recommend these enough.

a boring 'game'
My only positive to write is delivery was on time and cards were in perfect condition. The game is not a game by my family's definition as it is neither enjoyable nor entertaining. We are in a dual language family and love games and hence thought to give this a try. Unfortunately, we found it did not help language learning and in fact native speakers struggled with it as you are encouraged to form sentences that are quite mechanical and not native to the language at all. The choice of words taught are questionable and for us, it actually discouraged language learning as it's so boring to play. Haven't binned as don't want to waste and truly not worth passing on. It appears to be well marketed and reviewed which baffles us but many language products are. It's quite a money making market probably but to learn a language there must be some joy in the process and unfortunately there is none in playing this game.

Takes the fear out of learning a language...brilliant.
I teach Spanish Italian and English and I bought this game as a fun way for the students (ranging in age from 10 - 17) they absolutely loved it, we worked out different ways to use it and in the larger groups they were totally immersed and became very competitive indeed. To see how easy it was to pick up and see how even the reluctant ones absolutely loved it was a joy. Those who often found it hard to concentrate were immersed in the game and I watched how they patiently explained it to others. Brilliant, even my Dad now wants to learn using this. Thank you for an inventive and clear game which opens up languages to those who may have been afraid that they simply don't have the ability. Genius.

A fun game
My mum and I are both learning Italian so I got this for her Christmas present. We have played it quite a bit and have found it useful to practice vocabulary but also putting sentences together. An enjoyable game.

What a great way to increas Vocabulary!
A really good buy. My husband and I are learning Italian as our son is married to an Italian and living in Rome and we now have a little granddaughter . We thought trying the card game would be a fun way to learn especially when there is nothing of interest on TV at times. It is certainly proving to be fun with some very amusing sentences constructed. The words do certainly stick in our old minds in an amusing but purposeful way. many thanks

I have to laugh that the manufacturer recommended age is 3 years and up
I bought four decks of Kloo Learn to Speak Italian Language Card Games pack. Each deck focuses on vocabulary for a given subject. Deck 1 is for people. Deck 2 is for Eating and Drinking. Deck 3 is for Places and Deck 4 is for Everyday Objects.I have to laugh that the manufacturer recommended age is 3 years and up. I am over the age of 60 so I guess I qualify. I bought this as a family game for my grown children who are in their twenties.Every Christmas we get together and play holiday games. We do not exchange presents. Instead each of us come with a game to share with the family. This year I was sneaky. I wanted to bring something fun and yet practical. My son has just finished his last semester for his master's degree. However before he can receive his degree he must pass a foreign language competency exam. Yikes! Languages is not his thing but he loves to play cards.By accident I found Kloo on Amazon as I was looking for games like Phase 10, which we loved. That would be another review. I thought maybe we could play games and at the same time learn a language. Personally I have always wanted to travel to Italy. My husband does not know this yet but I play on going there with him soon. I would love to be able to go to an Italian restaurant and order everything in Italian. I would love to visit the museums and have some reading skills in Italian. My son is a procrastinator. He does not have a strong ambition to study Italian through text books, but he does seem to enjoy learning to sing in Italian. Knowing he is a hands on type of guy who seems to learn best through non traditional ways I bought Kloo. I have to say I am not disappointed. I love how the cards are color coded. This enable you to not only learn vocabulary words but also form sentences. Even when you don't win the game you don't lose, as you are always learning as you play. With the arrows on the cards you are able to put the words in the proper order to form simple sentences. My son's best friend also has to take the foreign language competency exam. Together while playing cards they are painlessly studying. I am glad that I bought all four decks at one time. This increases their choices of words. I see they also make a board game to go with their language cards, but it seems they have not made one yet for Italian. I can't wait until they do. It will enhance the game for us. In the meantime we are having fun with all four decks which could be played at once or separately. It is quite a clever concept. I highly recommend buying their card games whether it be in Italian, French or Spanish. Trust me you won't regret it.

Great way to start a new language!
I now have both the Italian and Spanish versions of this game and love it. I've been living in Mexico for almost a year teaching English. Once I reached a certain level of Spanish I wanted to start on another language so I picked up the Italian deck. It's a very nice way to learn grammar and sentence structure with pronunciation cues as well. It makes it much less tedious. I've been playing the Spanish version with my parents who ate in their 50s and I am amazed how they seem to remember another word or 2 every time we play!

Great for people who are new or experienced in language learning!
My husband and I bought the Italian KLOO card games (two sets). It wasfun being able to play a language game with my husband, who has neverlearned another language before! The game was challenging, but not toochallenging for a beginner. Both of us were able to play together onpretty equal footing, and have fun!

Fun Way to Learn or Improve Italian!
As a teacher of foreign languages (French and German) I can highly recommend this game for language learners of all ages at a variety of levels. I have been taking a beginning Italian class and find this to be a great supplement. It can be played with others, keeping score, or used on your own. By building sentences, you learn the new vocabulary in a meaningful, yet fun context, which is what makes learning stick!

It's not very useful for intermediate level
Cards are smaller than I expected and the game is simpler than I expected. It is for beginners. It's not very useful for intermediate level.
